.WASHINGTON (AP) Emergency legislation to avoid an economy-rattling government default sped through the House Monday night, a scant day before the deadline for action the dramatic vote made all the more memorable by Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' first appearance in Congress since suffering a head wound in a shooting six months ago.
The vote was 269-161, but all eyes were on Giffords, who drew thunderous applause as she walked into the House chamber and cast her vote in favor of the bill.

Well good for her that she came back
Too back she didnt learn anytthing
Sounds like she’s re-programed to me.
The debauch continues. The Pustule on the Potomac is a bit more swollen than it was this morning.
Gabby is ‘my’ Congresscritter. They could have put a sock puppet on Pelosi’s hand and had the same thing as Giffords...
Our government has become a sideshow.
How squalid. This is what trauma psychologists call pathological tenderness.
Watch the video. She spoke to people. That she can is a miracle. I hope she thanks God.
I think she probably learned quite a bit. this type of event tends to clarify things in a persons life.
I’m personally happy to see the bill passed, but I guess I’m probably in the minority here at FR. and I’ll tell ya, that doesn’t stop me from respecting the heck out of our side , the Tea Party, and freedom lovers.
“Our government has become a sideshow.”
Correction
Our government has become a Freakshow. (NO, I’m not calling Gabby a freak)
I understood that. DC is now the marxist capital of the world.
Had to turn off the tube and go take a little walk outside after the vote.
It was one of those enough is enough moments.
The Democommies are in the Carnival business here.
Yeah. I find 2012 uncertain. I don’t believe the marxists are going to allow fair elections. They’ve come so far......
I, for one will just say this. She was elected by her constituency. She endured a bullet to the brain. Six months latr she returned to her duty as a member of the House of Representatives. It is a miracle for her, and for her family.
Although I do not agree with her vote, I also do not agree with all of the protected ones who voted yes as wellm, that have not endured what she did.
Godspeed to her. I pray that she will learn the error of her ways in her vote.
Shameless lot, the bunch of them.
You can say what you want...but that's over the line.
