SAN ANGELO, Texas - The story of Warren Jeffs and polygamy in America did not start when Texas Rangers raided the YFZ Ranch and it will not end with Mr. Jeffs' trial here in San Angelo. The truth is, the history is long and the stories plentiful enough to fill-up libraries.
But listening to many of the talking heads on the networks and cable shows these days, you would think that they personally had just discovered this strange and secretive world through their own hard work and diligent investigation.
And that's shameful. Not only does it wildly embellish their roles in this long and twisted story for their own self-aggrandizing purposes, but I believe it also sort of gives everybody else a "freepass" for having not paid attention to this chronic and systematic abuse of women and children that dates back right here in our own beloved country nearly two centuries.
The culpability and dereliction of duty of dozens, if not hundreds, of Utah and Arizona cops and elected officials over the years is even greater. Their lack of involvement and action constitutes nothing short of willful ignorance and, in many cases, outright complicity. But that discussion for another day.

Yeah, they keep trying to change their racist past by pulling stunts like that but they have never renounced the racist teachings or prophets, they just say “we took care of that”.
The problem the LDS have is they claim to be the ‘restored’ church that Jesus Christ organized while on earth, which means if they were ‘restored’ than God is a racist. The LDS do not have the luxury Christians do of allowing reform and changes in teaching and doctrine. Christians recognize problems and need for reform, but if the LDS ‘reform’ then they are no longer the ‘restored’ church.
Post #114 are all examples of racist comments made by LDS apostles and prophets. Men the LDS believe speak directly to and for God.
Quite a quandary.
Wow. sounds a lot like the ROP, except for honor killings.
Read “Under the Banner of Heaven” for examples of honor killings. They have those too, many of the groups still practice ‘blood atonement’.
Moreover, we absolutely condemn arranged or forced marriages of underage girls to anyone under any circumstances.
You noticed he said “underage” girls. First of all, what age is considered “underage” and second, how about “forced marriages” to adult women?
You need to try to get on Dr. Drew or some of these cable programs that are covering this.
Then again, it’s doubtful they’d have you. All they have on are former “F” lds members. They don’t have former SLC LDS members.
Thing is they don’t believe it is forced, they fully are conditioned to think it is ‘the will of God’.
And SLC ex-mos are rarely invited on those types of shows.
Helen Mar Kimball was only 14 when Joey Smith forced her...
Another girl was only 12 when Joey Smith first tried to force her
She said No but he kept after her for a couple of years till he could change her No to a yes...
Several women who said No to Joey Smith had their reputations ruined by him
a favorite pastime of Joey Smith and Brigham Young and some others was to get a lone young girl who had just arrived in town and take her to their “upper room”
They would proposition her there demanding that she give into one or both...
When she said No they would accuse her of prostitution etc and threaten to lie about her...
When she gave in they would pass her around to their friends when they got tired of her...
Joey Smith met his Waterloo finally when he forced homself on the wife of William Law
When she said No he threatened to lie about her and ruin her reputation...
However Mrs Law had always been a virtuous woman and she had a husband who wasnt a wimp under Joey Smiths thumb
She told her husband that Joey Smith had tried to rape her
William Law published an expose about Joey Smith and his polygamy in the Expositor..
Thanks - will look that one up
