WASHINGTON However the debt limit showdown ends, one thing is clear: under pressure from Congressional Republicans, President Obama has moved rightward on budget policy, deepening a rift within his party heading into the next election.
Entering a campaign that is shaping up as an epic clash over the parties divergent views on the size and role of the federal government, Republicans have changed the terms of the national debate. Mr. Obama, seeking to appeal to the broad swath of independent voters, has adopted the Republicans language and in some cases their policies, while signaling a willingness to break with liberals on some issues.
That has some progressive members of Congress and liberal groups arguing that by not fighting for more stimulus spending, Mr. Obama could be left with an economy still producing so few jobs by Election Day that his re-election could be threatened. Besides turning off independents, Mr. Obama risks alienating Democratic voters already disappointed by his escalation of the war in Afghanistan and his failure to close the Guantánamo Bay prison, end the Bush-era tax cuts and enact a government-run health insurance system.

...So where is MOM?
....that seems to be the question.
I prefer to not visit...glad you did though!
Of course, it's her fault that he's spoiled brat, but he's just a snotty kid, doing whatever he can get away with. ;-)
The last 9 words in that sentence are significant. Republicans have changed the terms of the national debate.
Thanks to principled Republican House members, unimpeded government growth and the insane national debt are becoming important issues to Americans. They never used to be, except to conservatives. That is a crucial change in American politics. Obama is toast and the left is sinking because they got what the wished for: a liberal (communist) president, liberal congress (2009-2011) and a brain-dead electorate. Americans got to see what liberalism looks like when implemented - and it isn't so attractive anymore. God works in mysterious ways.
“Thanks to principled Republican House members, unimpeded government growth and the insane national debt are becoming important issues to Americans.”
I think you mean principled Tea Party House members.
“Moved rightward.” hell! If anything, it will be being expediently dragged from a previously held position. He remains the spawn of satan.
No love lost between Obama camp and Clinton camp. Their debates would be YouTube or Pay For View-could help out on debt/deficit.
Obama is the Antichrist and this is the beginning of the end.
Sweet...I'd watch...heh, heh!
Trump
Sorry if I got it wrong and I think I did!
Øne big assed mooooochelle, America
They’d be crazy to think anyone they primaried him with would be more of a leftist than he would be in a second term. This story is just drivel to make some people think he’s not what he is—despite all the evidence.
Donald Trump
You're right on the money. Not sure if it will play out exactly as stated, but I do see O-bozo just salivating at the thought of using some sort of crazy extra-constitutional executive mandate.
He loves perverting the founding document. He sees the constitution as an obstacle. He will use this method to push his agenda.
That's how I read it.
Holy carp, I was just going to post something along the same lines............
:-)
Love it!
This guy’s about as rightward as Maureen Dowd is a desirable, attractive female.
