Gotta love the wording and (lack of capitalization) in that headline. LOL!!
You noticed. :-)
Is that what they mean when they sing “Get down”?
Yeah, this always happens when my family has a get-together, too.
Public event....NOT a family gathering.
I try to stay away being anywhere near a "MLK Blvd"

Dang Amish parties, bet it was hard to find a tree to tie the horse to.
Beat me by 30. Seconds not bad.
That was like unto being an attempt at humor.
There was a thread earlier, but appears to have been pulled.
Here's a promo to the event.

A sixteen year old has died from a gunshot to the head.
No problem. It’s ironic, though ... “Family Unity Celebration.” Just like they always have shootings at “Stop the Violence!” events.
Victim #1: Black male 16 years of age (Fatal gunshot wound to the head)
Victim #2: Black female 20 years of age (Gunshot wound to the neck)
Victim #3: Black male 14 years of age (Gunshot wound to the left leg)

What’s wrong with Clear Channel? Beck in the morning, Rush in the early afternoon, Triv in the later afternoon.

George Clinton is taking some revenge on the law firm that sought to garnish his wages over unpaid legal bills. On Monday, the funk pioneer filed a $10 million lawsuit against Hendricks & Lewis for legal malpractice, fraudulent inducement, and breach of contract.
Long-time readers of this blog will know that Clinton’s name has been connected to a number of aggressive — sometimes trailblazing — legal actions, including lawsuits over samples and trademarked phrases like ”Bow wow wow yippe yo yippie yay.”
In February, Hendricks & Lewis looked to garnish Clinton wages for $1.7 million owed and described its arbitration battles with the musician over legal fees. At the time, it appeared that Clinton’s heavy litigation appetite had proven too costly, but in truth, determining who’s responsible for the historically bullish litigation is extremely complicated.
Throughout the years, Clinton maintained that his signature has been forged on various agreements and that he has lost a great deal of control over both his song rights and the ability to sue over them.
In the introduction of his lawsuit filed Monday in Washington federal court, Clinton says his “musical legacy [has] been usurped and/or misdirected by former managers, attorneys, record labels, etc. through questionable and sometimes fraudulent means, which has resulted in multiple prior legal actions before...federal courts throughout the United States.”

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland Councilman Zack Reed wants a good crowd when George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic perform July 30 in Luke Easter Park. What he doesn’t want is a flash mob.
At Reed’s urging, City Council voted Wednesday to outlaw use of Facebook and other social media to call together unruly crowds.
Reed’s concern stemmed from recent disturbances by flash mobs in the suburbs. He said he did not want trouble to mar summer gatherings like his Family Unity in the Park celebration, featuring Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic.

There has been violence at various Juneteenth celebrations in recent years. And there was a high profile stabbing at African-American family day at the National Zoo in Washington this year. There was a shooting at that same event at the zoo 11 years ago.
There’s something about crowded venues, or the clientele draw to certain events, which can result in violence.
There has been violence at Six Flags America in Prince George’s County, Maryland. It’s frustrating to think that you can’t even go to certain theme parks without being in a threatening atmosphere due to the other “guests”.
