KABC-TV Channel 7 reporter Leanne Suter was injured after being struck with a pellet from a BB gun Saturday while doing a live weather report in Fontana, but she was not seriously injured, authorities said.
Two teenagers were arrested in connection with the shooting, Fontana police said. Suter was taken to a hospital after being hit in the hand with a BB round, said Lt. Mark Weissmann. She was standing on Summit Avenue near the 15 Freeway when she was shot about 6 p.m., Weissmann said.
Two boys, ages 16 and 17, was taken into custody on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, he said. Their names were not released.

Does anybody wonder why medical costs are so high?
Yes he would, after asking the UN to certify that the WMDS....pellets...were in the hands of those supporting terror...ism.....it was an off hand joke....
That could put your eye out!
When I was a kid we woul put on glasses and play war with our red riders. The good ole days.
Two boys, ages 16 and 17,with the mind of a 5 year old.
Glasses? We didn't need no stinkin' glasses! Our rule was shoot below the waist. If you got hit above the waist we always went, ooops! And, kept on fightin'....
now as for the folks here thinking pellet guns are harmless. No so fast my friends.

Is she any less hit if they “didn’t mean to”??
There is no way a BB to the hand would cause hospitalization.
Certainly less dangerous than, say, a paintball.
LOL!
Yeah, we did the same thing, though we usually carried both rifles and CO2 powered handguns. Too bad we had to get our parents to fill up the cartridges for us. :)
This wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the Big Pellet Industry and lobby.
Since when do BB guns shoot pellet?
-mine do.
Oh, I do have to admit, our airsoft wars at my first college were a -lot- more fun. It was a 24/7 thing, we’d carry around the guns in our backpacks ;). (small Christian town, pop 1200, nobody seemed to care)
Finals week we’d switch out airsoft for water guns and have a hunt to the last man(you’d be given a name as your target, and if you hit them first, you took whoever their target was, this was a student-organization sponsored event :D)
Guilty!
QUICK: Save the Media—BAN BB GUNS!!
I know of two cases where kids were hit by BBs/pellets that penetrated their chests near the heart. Internal bleeding around the heart increased pressure on the heart and they died. One case happened to a boy in a family we know.
Search "killed by bb pellet gun."
I’m not sure what she was hit with but there a bunch of folks down here who hunt with air rifles, their taking rabbit’s, predators and a few have taken small hog’s. With pellets traveling at 1200fps there no doubt in my mind you could kill a person with one. I’ve taken a wide variety of critters myself with my Gamo Whisper, any where from rat’s to as big as boar raccoons.
