2:13pm | Pelosi to speak shortly.

2:07pm | McConnell spokesman says “Reid bill is over.”

If Republican opposition holds, Reid may be forced to ammend his plan in order to gain the 60 votes required to end debate on the measure.

1:59pm | Michele Bachmann on the House floor.

The Minnesota representative and GOP presidential candidate attacks Obama for demanding “blank checks” and not offering a plan to bring down the deficit. She voted no on the Boehner debt limit plan and says she is a no vote on any plan to raise the debt limit.

They look informative, but they date to March 5,2010. They are not relevant to the current discussion. Given there is no actual proposal on the table from either Reid or Obama, how could the CBO be of any use in the instant (and I mean moment-to-moment) case?

“Stop foreign aid to Egypt, Pakistan, Israel, China and a hundred other countries that hate us.”
^^^^^^^^^^^^

I’ll go with your list, but take Israel out and put California in. Israel is a true ally in the Middle East and we need her.

California is a Spanish-speaking country for the most part... it’s just not official yet. Sad.

It is frustrating to know how this ends. It is like watching a bad movie.

Watered down bill. Nobody will get what they want. Debt ceiling will increase. Taxes will increase. Spending in the coming years will quickly take us to 20 trillion in debt.

The only way to change this is to vote these people out. It would take a lot of Americans to vote them off the island.

You forgot one option.....................
1. He had the prime time television coverage - bully pulpit?
2. America is so stupid that they just don’t understand what is happening?
3. Republicans have no idea how to win the minds of the American public?
4. Republicans don’t know how to deliver the message or fight this type of battle?
5. All of the above.

For those w/out cable/dish can you keep us abreast as to who makes good, resonating points from our side?
I agree with the previous poster who mentioned our side doesn’t know how to communicate...that isn’t an excuse...we know the MSM and Obama are one unit.We have Breitbart and other web methods like Palin’s Facebook...however, I don’t know how to reach the other CNN/NPR losers. Boehner/McConnel/Cantor better learn how to grab the mic and say, “Don’t twist my words...”
Also, our side better unify fast and have one message.

Thanks, what a great site!

More:

Urges Democrats and Republicans to support Reid legislation.

The Office of Management and Budget says President Obama supports the version of the Reid bill introduced in the House. Republicans are set to vote the bill down within the hour.

The Office of Management and Budget says President Obama supports the version of the Reid bill introduced in the House. Republicans are set to vote the bill down within the hour.

Rep. Alan Nunnelee (R-MS): "We hear [Democrats] talk a lot about compromise. The American people want solutions."

Citing this op-ed repeatedly: "Republicans are not looking like adults to whom voters can entrust the government."

The liberals continue to whine like babies while rebuking the republicans for not looking like adults.

LOL at the voters trusting the government!

I hope they are not calm, cool, collected...that will not make the MSM show the clip of the speach...they’ll ignore it and twist it. Boehner better do something memorable that they simply can’t ignore...our side better be unified, too.

Polls showing R’s are blamed 2/1 on CNN are not unbiased as their viewership is 2/1 lib over conservative.

I just can’t comprehend how anyone thinks that we should continue to raise and raise and raise the debt limit. We are at 14.5 trillion. In a few years we will be at 17 trillion and then 20 trillion. How in the world the politicians believe this is acceptable is just beyond me.

At some point it has to end. There is no other choice.

Unless I am missing something?
