“We’ll see in a few days, but I agree that if the house doesn’t vote on something before Reid passes a bill in the senate, Reid’s bill will end up being signed by Obama.”

You do understand any bill Reid might make has to not only pass the Senate, but also has to pass the House right? If Boners plan can’t pass, wth makes you think Reids will?

Mr West, the liberals aren’t going to vote for you in 2012.

And now neither will we.

“If I thought there was a snowballs chance in hell we could in one swoop cut 43% of the federal budget (and government) I’d line up with ya, but it is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Sorry. “

So let’s take their position then.. They will pass that right away! Or perhaps the better position is to pass the best bill you can so you deal from the highest ground you can get to. If you think that is Boehners bill then you are just not paying attention.

The power level there is near absolute, so who really knows what threats may have been made in secret? Here in Myrtle Beach, SC, another progressive stronghold, I had the thought about going to the city council meetings and asking questions. One of my friends told me that everyone who has, including one mayor that exhibited a bit of integrity, was harassed to the point of having to leave the area by the “Big Money” behind the power.

I have since given up on my idea of dragging a guillotine down to the square. :>)

Given enough ti8me, all politicians
show their true colors! The Tea Party is made of of mature Americans who care for and want the best for their country. We reject Obama’s change! Apparently, most politicians only care for and want the best for themselves. A balanced budget amendment is wanted by the majority of the voters.l As usual, the politician will tell the people what is good for them. So it is business as usual in Washington D.C. with no common sense in government!

What is the point of a debt limit? Isn’t it to prevent you from spending more than that limit? And shouldn’t that mean forcing you to cut your spending, or increasing your income?

And if so, and you decide that the situation forces you to borrow more than your limit, doesn’t it make sense to increase the limit as little as possible, enough to give you time to fix your spending habits, and to still apply pressure?

I see a 6-month increase as MUCH better than the “grand bargain”. All future cuts are subject to changes if the house, senate, and president all agree. Historically, we have increased the debt limit in small amounts. The average length of time during Reagan’s years was less than 6 months between increases. IN the early 1990s the democrats actually voted for “temporary” debt limit increases, thus forcing multiple votes, before they finally increased it permanently.

I think we’ll be stronger in 6 months. I think we can get more cuts in 6 months.

Obama, Reid and company will then blame the republicans for everything. West, Cantor and company will hit the air with a response along the lines of ‘hey, we submitted three bills to them and they won’t budge.’ That becomes campaign fodder for next year.

won’t happen. please, read what Rush said.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2755346/posts

this is “briar patch” stuff! and the 14th is a bluff.
the Dems will TAKE Boehner’s bill,
(which others have noted, contains some IDENTICAL wording as Reid’s)
and modify it “slightly”, and Obama will sign it, and the USA will be screwed.

did everyone FORGOT the “massive” cuts Boehner got for us, in the LAST big battle ?????????

How so? From day one the entire Republican and Democrat leadership has been pushing hard for a two and a half TRILLION dollar increase in the debt that this generation cannot possibly repay.

Every single plan promulgated, by BOTH major parties, has one way or another had as its bottom line an increase in the debt ceiling by almost two and a half TRILLION dollars.
///
Amen!
doing NOTHING, is better than going another 2.4 TRILLION in debt.
(and without cuts NOW, we are CERTAIN to have a credit downgrade. increasing our interest rate and debt crisis.
what good is all 3 branches in 2013, if the country is ruined and 17.5 trillion in debt ?)

He’s accustomed to following the orders of the leader. He’s not sharpest knife in the drawer.

He’s good at spouting patriotic slogans derived from the military culture and that is good. However, the military culture does not cultivate individuality, creativity and original thinking. Ultimately, you are good if to carry out orders frmo the top.

When he heard Boner shout for the Tea Party to follow orders, West clicked his heals and fell in line like a good soldier. This is why the last silent majority conservative government movement died. Too many indians who will follow any leader.

It is important for conservatives to understand the difference between patriotic slogans and abilities to actually think creatively and come up with ideas to regenerate the Republic and then lead others to help them get their ideas into action. The establishment exists to increase it’s own wealth and power on the destructive road it is traveling.

Boehner and McConnell have screwed this up from the jump.

They held the ability to deal themselves a royal flush and didn’t do it.

All they had to do was send CCB to the Senate and follow it up with H.R. 2402 and they won no matter what happened.

H.R. 2402 would pass the House with broad bi-partisan votes. Few House members would vote against assuring the military, Social Security, and the interest gets paid. They don’t want election ads in their district saying they voted against that.

Send HR 2402 to the Senate and go in front of every TV camera you can find and say the Senate now has a bi-partisan bill that assures the SS and Medicare checks will go out the military will get paid and the nation will not default. Let Dirty Harry table that bill.

Then just keep every Republican hammering on the fact that Republicans and REASONABLE Democrats protected seniors, our military and our creditors and extremists in the Senate are refusing to even vote on it.

Instead Boehner has this thing FUBAR.

At this point you have to step back and wonder if West was a stealth rat all along.

He did join the Congressional Black Caucus, which unabashedly proclaim themselves to be Socialists. The question is why did they accept him, they refused J. C. Watts.

Well if you want to know what I really think? What I really think is that is does not matter what this congress does, the country is broke and can't afford it's obligations, period. The collapse is going to happen, maybe this week, maybe next year but it is going to happen. So I really don't care what Congress does, it is too late no matter what they do. Ergo, I would like to see as many conservatives in office as possible so that when the you know what hits the fan it will be conservatives that get to pick up the pieces and try again, not Marxists.

OK, I’m fine with that, so let’s take Boehner to the wood shed and make his bill better, I’m cool with that. It is the never, under no circumstances, raise the limit I think is counter productive.
