Ping to a rather humorous article.
I just emailed Sean Duffy in Wisconsin - he caved - I live in TN and had to use Duffy’s office address just to be able to contact him. I donated to him every time they called me.
I asked to be removed from his donor list.
I likened the stand the TEA Party is making to the lone man standing in front of the tank in Tiananmen Square.
Rant On Kevin !
Humorous and truthful article pointing out the facts of a community organizers sorry tactics!
... and how an unorganized, fed-up bunch of citizens is raining on phroahs parade.
I am Hoping for Change in 16 months.
The political elites from both parties are shocked that a candidate would actually do what he said he’d do during the campaign. Why are they shocked? Because “we the people” have always allowed them to say anything they have to say to get elected. And now see what that got us? It got us a bunch of crooks who will do anything to keep the government running so they can fund their wealthy retirements and lavish lifestyle.
And the GOP will kick it down the road allowing obama to get re-elected. Anything to stay in congress and get richer.
STAND TALL, TEA PARTY. THIS IS YOUR ONLY CHANCE.
C.C.B was the compromise. If this is such a crises, take that off the table in the US Senate and pass it.
Good article. We are near the end....
The GOP is asking Conservatives (once again!) for ‘bipartisan’ tolerance and to moderation in our demands and expectations.
Really?
The GOP is overlooking the past DECADES of Conservative ‘compliance’ on this issue.
The GOP is overlooking the surly insults and groundless accusations of ‘racism’ handed to American taxpayers, who HAVE for so long complied, HAVE given more and more, HAVE moderated their demands... American taxpayers are insulted and maligned just for expecting SOME accountability in return.
The GOP is overlooking the calculated and deliberate attempt of Liberals (including this President) to provoke internecine class conflict over taxpayer expectations for simple observance of basic and sound financial practice
The GOP is overlooking the fact that Conservatives did not/do NOT initiate the criminally mismanaged, grotesquely fraudulent, gratuitous and socially destructive entitlement programs which are hemorrhaging taxpayer resources.
This is only a brief description of the Tea Party/GOP disconnect.
In fact, if the GOP thinks they have a fight on their hands with Liberals, they are going to be challenged as fiercely by the Tea Party element in America and by ANY right thinking Conservative who has HAD ENOUGH and GIVEN ENOUGH.
The train is leaving the station and as much as I am opposed (personally) to the thought of a third party option in national elections, it looks like the GOP is forcing the issue.
What did honest and hard working Americans ever do to be cursed with a self-defeating Republican party and a lying, criminal, anti-American, Communist wolfs-head for a President AND a media which sees all issues and events in terms of their VERY Liberal bias??
After watching the circus on air last night, I needed some funny prospective. Thanks for the great article.
The only way to rein in Washington is to take away our money. Not raising the debt ceiling is the only way to force America to cut government, something liberals abhor.
IMO a better course would be to throw the debt ceiling out. Let government spend whatever it wants. It won't take long for the American taxpayer to "rein in Washinmgton".....but it won't be with words or votes.
Remember the "Arab Spring"? This nation needs an "American Autumn."
1. Government at the Federal level has grown WAY too big, period. It's time to pass at minimum the One Percent Spending Reduction Act (H.R. 1848/S. 1316), which would impose a one percent cut in baseline Federal spending per year starting in 2012 to 2018, then keep it at the 6% reduced baseline level compared to the current rate. I would also look at cutting budgets on a really big scale by following John Stossel's recommendation based on his blog post:
Based on Stossel's list, you can see that by phasing out many departments, merging others, and adjusting the requirements to get Social Security benefits could mean cutting US$900 BILLION or more per year off the budget rather easily without going to Stossel's extreme.
2. The income tax code--and even the Lefty reporters at CNBC now finally admit this--needs to MASSIVELY overhauled--and I do mean MASSIVELY overhauled. We should right now start by lowering the maximum corporate and personal income tax rate to 25% (using a three-tiered income tax scale at 10%, 17.5% and 25%) and remove 75 to 85 percent of the credits, deductions, exemptions and preferences from the Internal Revenue Code for the 2012-2013 tax years. Starting the 2014 tax year, switch over to the flat rate income tax plan as envisioned by Steve Forbes: 17.5% of earned income, with only a household exemption of US$13,000 per adult in a two-adult household and US$9,000 per child in the household, and eliminate the alternate minimum tax, marriage penalty, estate tax, and taxes on bank account interest, capital gains and stock dividend payments.
With these reforms in place, our economy will finally grow and prosper again as the Federal government in terms of spending and taxation will no longer squeeze the life out of the private sector like it is now. Indeed, this should be the model that the entire world should emulate in the long run.
Worthy rant Ping
