As some suggest, Dick Morris among others, when and if August 2 comes and goes with no dreaded immediate DEPRESSION, Obama and the creepy democrats at Treasury and in Congress will be utterly exposed for the scare tactics and fear mongering. All comes down to arithmetic, people do not trust the media, Obama has been properly placed on the curb, so why would Republicans lose the rest of the battle over obvious lies, threats and over fear among even some Republicans. People can add and subtract for themselves.

I dont remember being so ashamed of the Republican party in a long time... the lack of any respect for others, like John Boehner, is appalling.”

No, because the Senate GOP knows that if they pass just anything it won’t survive the reconciliation process in the House, especially if according to your scenario even Boehner’s bill doesn’t pass...why then would the House pass the Reid bill?

No, because the Senate GOP knows that if they pass just anything it wont survive the reconciliation process in the House, especially if according to your scenario even Boehners bill doesnt pass...why then would the House pass the Reid bill? Once the bill has Reid's name on it instead of Boehner's and comes back to the Congress it will get most or all of the Democrats votes and it will need only 25-35 wobbly (RINO) Republicans for passage.

Let’s say Boehner needs 2 more YES votes but there are 5 Tea Partiers voting NO. Suppose those 5 abstain from this vote, and the others stay the same, and now he has more YES votes than NO. Doesn’t the bill pass?
Those NO voters would have to decide if an abstention contradicted the promises they made to the voters.
I understand that they are trying to achieve real spending cuts, but that is hard to do when the enemy controls the senate and presidency. I am concerned that they will give Obama a weapon for 2012, Right now Obama owns the economy, but the GOP could share that ownership if they are not careful.

Stick with Cut, Cap & Balance-!!! With its $2.4 TRILLION dollar increase in the debt ceiling? Why?

If I understood Limbaugh this morning, he was saying that it doesn't matter what the Republicans pass in the House because the Democrats will gut the bill by amending it into a shell bill like they did with the health care reform bill? Reid will then make it into whatever he wants and send it back to the House where Obama will use Boehner's words against him to pressure him to pass the Senate bill?

Don’t you think Reid will do that with whatever is sent over?
I do.
