(AP) WASHINGTON An assistant secretary at the Department of Labor has resigned after an internal investigation found that he improperly steered federal contracts to friends and former colleagues.
Raymond Jefferson, who headed the department's Veterans Employment and Training Service since 2009, used his position to coerce or intimidate other employees to make the awards without open competition, according to a July 21 report by the agency's acting inspector general, Daniel Petrole.

Given that the LSM has a penchant for attaching the word “unexpectedly” to any bad economics news, we need to start attaching the word “expectedly” to the headline of any article involving Democrap corruption or nepotism.
I would agree with you, except for the resignation part. That is to say, Democrap corruption is expected; a resignation or any type of punishment for such behavior is not.

Whether or not a democrap is fired or forced to resign depends entirely on how useful said democrap is to the dem leadership. Case in point: Maxine Waters. How long have we been waiting for her ethics trial? And we’ll wait a lot longer since grandma Botox doesn’t want to rile up the black vote before the 2012 elections.
Wu, on the other hand, got tossed under the bus because there really is no appreciable Chinese vote in Oregon so who (or Wu?) cares?
