So the debt limit debate has come to this: John McCain, who you may recall was the GOPs 2008 standard bearer, is now openly accusing conservatives of actively misleading America with their completely unrealistic demands, which he labeled deceiving and bizarro. In a seminal moment in this debate, heres some video of McCain on the Senate floor today, unleashing an angry tirade at conservatives who are still holding out for a balanced budget amendment as part of any compromise on the debt ceiling. McCain accused them of deceiving America into believing such a thing can pass the Senate:

Exactly. He's a mole.
” SCUM
You are too kind. “
You are too Kant : )
That is the calmest and most quiet “angry tirade” I have ever heard. Am I watching the wrong video?
Anyway, I don’t see the big deal in what he said. In essence he is correct. The Senate won’t pass the House plan.
I do disagree with McLame on one issue however, one he completely misses in his zeal to “reach across the isle and compromise” with the enemy, as he always does.
That is, the debt ceiling is the leverage NEEDED in order to FORCE the Democrat majority Senate into passing a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.
McLame is right in that the BBA won’t pass the Senate, but what if the House stands firm for a month, for two months, not raising the debt ceiling. What if some of the checks don’t go out (which I rather doubt - I think the payments will still be made and the deficit run up even as the debt ceiling is not officially formally raised. But what if the people begin to hammer their Senators for not passing the BBA, triggering an increase in the debt ceiling.
McLame completely ignores the possibility. It is really a shame the Arizona voters resent this senile RINO back to the Senate. Really a shame.
More like decades...
the infowarrior
McCain went to Washington as a Republican, but years of reaching across the aisle (not to mention his marriage to Cindy) have convinced him deep down that the Dems are more right than conservative members of his own party. He is in the closet... but no doubt about it... he’s a RAT.
