Has there ever been a more smug bastard than John McCain?
Vanity

After savagely tearing into conservatives on the floor of the Senate, McCain is on Hannity right now, claiming that he was attacking Obama, not conservatives. Then, he claims that no-one has a better conservative fiscal record than he, because he "fought the Bush -uh spending."
He did?
No, he fought the Bush TAX CUTS.

I can't believe I voted for that jackass for President. I blame the RNC’s primary process. I'm gonna think real hard about voting for another RINO.

He blows, no doubt. Let’s not get hung up. Keep fighting the good fight. Can’t do anything about this old hag until 2016 anyway. Ignore her.

He was a valiant military servant to America
He is a disgrace to everyone who has ever been in uniform and especially our soldiers whose blood has soaked the ground of Viet Nam. I spit on his valiant service. He's milked that service for all it was worth in order to be a traitor to every American. And we are a military family.

Let it be entered into the permanent record that I voted for PALIN in the last election.
McCain just happened to be on the ballot.

McCain's argument seemed to be that, Republicans will be blamed if there is a debt default and will ultimately be forced to cave anyway. So they should get the best deal they can now and move on. The problem with this argument, of course, is you are essentially signaling to your opponent absolute surrender, So why should Obama give them anything at all if he knows they will not allow a debt default? He can wait them out and get the "clean" increase he wanted from the start.
Even if you agree with McCain's premise that Republicans will get the blame for a default and can not allow it to happen, why would you tell your opponent that? At minimum McCain is the worlds worst negotiator...

It was kind of interesting. McCain talked himself into a circle. He couldn't even get behind the Paul-Mac plan. Freeze spending at current levels for two years then reduce that spending level one percent per year for six years. And he cannot even support that. Then he argued that he doesn't support across the board spending cuts. A plan that simple, that easy and he cannot support even that. He is the definition of the problem. Mordor on the Potomac as Church says.
