Jobs Czar Moves US Jobs to China
By Mark Wachtler, Independent Examiner
July 27, 2011. Beijing. In an attempt to capture a larger share of the booming Chinese market, General Electric announced that it was moving its X-Ray technology headquarters from Wisconsin to China. While GE is one of the largest military suppliers in the world, it is also the parent of the NBC broadcasting group of companies. Ironically enough, GEs CEO is Jeff Immelt, the same man President Obama anointed as Americas Jobs Czar.

It never happens that way. The technology is transferred to the Chinese who then develop their own companies and market, later to compete in the US market.

Default Scare Tactics
FBNs Stuart Varney sounds off on the presidents response to debt ceiling.
Theyre scaring you. The White House threatens financial Armageddon and at the exact same time, President Obamas favorite executive shifts high tech jobs to China.
It was Dan Pfeiffer, a top White House aide, who says we may go into a depression if we dont get a debt deal. And of course, it is the Republicans fault. If we dont let the President borrow a few trillion more, well al be in the poor house next week. A scare tactic, plain and simple.
And it was Jeff Immelt, GEs top guy, who is shifting the companys x-ray division from Wisconsin to Beijing. Mr. Immelt chairs the Presidents council on job creation and competitiveness.

Stuart Varney believes that Obama is doing this to punish Wisconsin Governor Walker which Obama believes will turn voters against Walker.
"As the company grows more global, it's increasingly important for us to become close to our customers" Anne LeGrand, vice president and general manager of GEs Healthcare and X-Ray division, told the Wall Street Journal.So...they are leaving their BIGGEST CUSTOMER, to go to one of their smaller customers ...
I was thinking the same thing, this is about WI and getting to/at Walker...if GE plant was in any other state, this would not be happening!
“Two months after Immelt was named to the council, The New York Times reported that General Electric paid no income taxes last year... thanks to some fancy accounting footwork, even though the company earned $14.2 billion in profits last year - more than $5 billion in the U.S. alone.” Source: CNN
Not “Unexpected”. This is the same method that the Nazi Party under Hitler used to bring Germany’s big businesses to heel. At the end they were all beholden to the government for their very lives and fortunes. History repeating.
I read some where only about five jobs were going to China..Sales people..They wanted to be able to sell more to China and India..Instead of traveling back and forth..I think most of the stuff is already made over seas...The only way to get jobs back here is cut corporate taxes to 10% or 0% and reform the EPA... I built a bunch of chip plants in Colorado Springs they all moved over seas I think ..EPA... there are a lot of chemicals involved in chip making...

And sending all of GE Trade Secrets and Technology to a Communist Government who dispises AMERICA and believes we are a nation of Stupid Suckers!! China preys on America’s Greed and Corruption! Do any of You think that the Chinese Government doesn’t know every corrupt and depraved secret of anyone in leadership here in America and doesn’t exploit that knowledge to their fullest benefit?
They are too busy working with Holder, obama and Patty Murray on the lawsuit that PREVENTS Boeing from moving to Charleston from Seattle.
I have yet to read one article that quotes Immelt defending this.
100% correct. It's all made in China, Taiwan, or South Korea already. Opening a glorified sales office - that just so happens to also shelter a huge chunk of your overseas earnings - is business strategy.
If we want US manufacturing coming back, the ONLY that will work is make the business climate in the US more attractive. Eliminate the corporate income tax, provide tort reform, and strip back the EPA/OSHA/etc regulations to early 1980s levels. Absent those moves, however, and most businesses would never consider moving back - not only is your business less likely to survive, but if it does - you get to keep less of what you built.
Busting Boeing's chops over its intended move of some (not all) 787 production from Washington State to South Carolina. You see, it would move production from a union shop to one that has consistently voted to NOT organize, and that simply cannot happen - even inside the US!
How much longer until Boeing - who already outsources most production of the rest of the parts to the rest of the world (including those "cheap labor" places called Japan and Italy) - moves its assembly and operations all overseas?
Why shouldn’t our CEOs be moving jobs to China? Obama, is making it impossible to open factories and do business in the USA. And the Republicans, concentrating on the debt ceiling if they are conservatives or their favorite spending if they are RINOS, are doing little about it.
By Chris Isidore @CNNMoney July 11, 2011:
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The head of General Electric told a jobs summit at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Monday that businesses needed to take the lead on job creation.
" GE Healthcare will however hire 65 new engineers and other staff at the new Chengdu facility."
"businesses needed to take the lead on job creation IN CHINA."
There - fixed......
There should not be a corporate income tax. You can call them business taxes, but they come out of the pockets of real people. Corporate taxes are usually paid by the customers of the corporation.
What I want to know is if this weasel Immelt is getting any remuneration from us taxpayers for the swell job he is doing as jobs czar. What a crock!
