Investigate Attorney General Bondi’s Firings of June Clarkson and Theresa Edwards

Friends,

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi seems to think her first duty is to protect some of Gov. Scott’s biggest corporate pals – the banks – instead of hard working Floridians. Recently Bondi fired Florida’s two leading attorneys investigating the epidemic of foreclosure fraud ravaging our communities.

The attorneys investigating foreclosure fraud said they were forced out. Join me and sign this petition calling for an immediate investigation: http://www.progressflorida.org/bondi

June Clarkson and Theresa Edwards were tasked by then-Attorney General Bill McCollum last year to investigate allegations of widespread fraud taking place in foreclosures occurring around the state. They did their jobs well…perhaps too well for Pam Bondi.

The investigation by Clarkson and Edwards produced a blockbuster presentation entitled “Unfair, Deceptive and Unconscionable Acts in Foreclosure Cases. ” The presentation demonstrated numerous outrageous examples of blatant fraud and deception by banks and law firms initiating foreclosures known as “foreclosure mills.” Clarkson and Edward’s work was so effective it was used in other states in prosecuting foreclosure fraud . Then in May, despite a recent glowing performance evaluation, both attorneys were suddenly told by a supervisor to immediately step down or be fired.

Sign the petition calling for an investigation of Attorney General Bondi’s actions:

Thank you for your help.

Please sign the petition , even if you aren't from Florida we need to ensure that the banks that are committing fraud on our courts are held accountable , and our AG sure appears to be working against the rule of law.

Were the firings legal? Do they serve at the will of the AG?If so, there is no issue.

They were getting results ,, their replacements are newbies that the AG can throttle back... The replacements were denied access to the files and notes of the fired pair , the only reason to do that is to slow or derail any investigation. The complaints came from foreclosure mills that were being investigated ... The banks and foreclosure mill attorneys were big campaign contributors...

Seriously, how about doing research before you post from moveon.org? The firings were done because these 2 assistants attorney general were moonlighting for foreclosure mills. The firings followed two reprimands from the governor's office.

And here's more info here.

In keeping with long-standing Freeper tradition, I suggest posting a photo of General Bondi. I am confident the verdict will be a resounding NOT GUILTY !!

Why should Freepers sign a petition whose sole object is to allow freeloaders to continue to squat in their dwellings rent free because their banks made trivial paperwork errors while foreclosing? I challenge the signers to come forward with evidence that “evil” banks deliberately tried to foreclose against owners who were not behind on their payments. Hide behind the so-called rule of law if you want, but somebody is having to pay for these squatters.

Do you read ? What you posted had to do with a legit firing ... nothing to do with what I posted... here's the first line from your linked article .... TAMPA -- The attorney general's office has fired Erin Cullaro, an assistant Florida attorney general reprimanded last year for moonlighting for a "foreclosure mill."

What she is doing directly impacts , NEGATIVELY , not only every Floridian but sets a tone for the other state AG’s that are dealing with the foreclosure crisis ,,, we along with NV and CA are at the forefront of the crisis but we are allowing the TBTF banks to destroy clear and marketable title ....

P.S. Yes she is somewhat HOT ... but I’ll leave her for you and Lazmataz.

Sometimes a blind squirrel finds a nut...

If conservatives won’t stand up against crony capitalism (hey isn’t that what’s so upsetting about Obama?) in the AG’s office ... and I myself don’t have the resources to push effectively for a well deserved investigation ... I sure WILL link to a party that is doing the right thing.

P.S. The last time I was on DU was in 2000 ,,, lasted almost a day before I was booted for supporting the freepers that kept the recount honest.

I read quite well and clearly you have comprehension problems so stop the spinning. You mentioned the 2 attorneys fired by the AG and they were part of the team investigating the illegal foreclosures. They were fired for the right reasons. And WHY would you post something that uses info from progressive sites?

I'll take your points in order...

1.) ...banks made trivial paperwork errors while foreclosing?

forging instruments , attesting to facts that you know nothing of .. I'd hate to see what you consider to be non-trivial..

2.) ...“evil” banks deliberately tried to foreclose against owners who were not behind on their payments.

That is a big part of it ,, the banks cannot document any securitized mortgage as to what is owed... because the note was paid in full during the securitization process and the obligation , though still existant , is now unsecured debt.

You are right, Mr Obamas AG , Holder , is definitely working against the rule of law
*****************************************************
Holder isn’t the only one , state AG’s , on this subject , are right in-line with Holder in propping up the banksters against the people... here we are in Florida with some of the most tainted and abusive courts in the nation and the AG fires the two people spearheading an effective campaign to stop the (felonious and rampant) abuses...

Wow.. I’m a little surprised Scott would allow these firings, if indeed these two attorneys were effective in rooting out foreclosure fraud and bringing to justice all the bums and deadbeats who think they can have their housing for free. Very disappointing.

Pam Bondi needs to be kept honest ,,, firing the two lead investigators and locking away their research should tell you what her game plan is ... we need to keep our peoples feet to the fire EVEN more than the rats ,, we can never rehab a rat... but Bondi is becoming corrupt in record time.

As far as using something from “progressive” sites ... They happen to be doing something while “we” are watching our own people act against ALL OF US ,, sure their motivation is highly suspect but the goal should be applauded... if you understood the full ramifications of the destruction raining down on every parcel of land in America from the banks that have been deemed “Too Big To Follow the Law” you would join me.

You need to do some reading on what’s been allowed to happen in courtrooms throughout Florida , your statement was intended to be humorous but I can assure you that being falsely accused with false witnesses (forged documents and the people behind those documents) is a reality for thousands every week in Florida...

Foreclosure filings have fallen by about 75% here lately ... the banks are still filing all they can ,, they’ve just found it difficult to find attorneys stupid enough to submit their false affidavits and other paperwork lately and subject themselves to sanctions...

How are you going to fix all the illegal foreclosures that have already occurred .. we are already seeing filings where homeowners have clear and legitimate claim... fraud has no statute of limitations ,, those cases ,, by the hundreds of thousands , will be reversed...
