as it looked grim for him in 2009 and 2010.

No change.

Philadelphia was their stronghold in Pennsylvania.

Rubio for VP under Perry would be a win win for Repubs.

This election is strategy...Dems need that cattle vote.

PA wasn’t big for Obummer the last time. This was Hitlary country. I don’t even see a lot of Obummer/Biteme stickers here anymore. As a matter of fact, I see twice as many Kerry/Edwards stickers. Obummer is toast.

Something I don’t see mentioned nearly often enough is how abysmally Obama polls in state-by-state surveys. Somehow or other the national polls keep him in the mid to low forties, but whenever a particular state is surveyed solo, his numbers are much worse. This happens invariably. Why so few mention it is a mystery to me.

if Obama can’t turn around his fortunes in states such as Michigan and New Hampshire, next year’s presidential election could end up being a GOP landslide.

Also Indiana, Ohio, Florida and North Carolina, to name just a few. The guy is toast. Pure toast.

PA went decently strong republican last election, so there is hope. I still see Obama stickers (although fewer) while driving. It’s going to be an uphill battle no matter what “polls” say.

He was hired because he’s black. He’ll be fired because he’s an incompetant socialist.

Hillary Clinton Democrats, primarily white working-class voters, turned out for Obama in 2008, but those are the voters Obama is losing fastest in this cycle.

Been saying the above for a long time now.

Had Hillary been the nominee we might have had Hillary for EIGHT years instead of Obama for "just" FOUR.

What's worse?

It's really hard to say, but I'd hazard a guess that Obama for 48 months is worse.

Michigan may very well go Republican in the 2012 presidential elections. It went big time for Obama in 2008 partly because the McCain campaign wrote it off and did little or no campaigning or advertising. Typically, Michigan is much closer, with the Dem getting 51% to 52% of the vote.

In 2010, Michigan elected a Republican governor, a Republican house and senate and put Republicans in major offices such as attorney general and secretary of state as well as a Republican Supreme Court.

The black vote will still be reliably 97% in favor of Obama, but turn out is likely to be much smaller.

Obama was elected as a result a bunch of guilty white liberals and independents voting for him because of his race. However, this will not be the case in 2012 as many of these liberals/independents are coming to the realization that the man is in way over his head and does not know how to lead.

Last I heard, “gay marriage” will be on the 2012 ballot in Colorado.
Winning in Colorado is based upon taking the middle-of-the-road suburban voters.
Barry can kiss the Centenial State goodbye.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

if the race is not close, then the details don’t matter. There would be no battleground states.

In 2000 it was FLA
In 2004 it was OH
in 2008, if it were close, COL or VA would have put Obama over the top. Of course, he won both fairly easily.

2012: if we assume the EC is razor thin close, what would be the closest states (battleground)?

Prob not NM and NV anymore ... DEMS get them.
DEMS need all of COL & IA & NH to get 270. Those are the 3 that I identify now as battleground in a close result.
Some might argue Virginia. But OH and FLA are gone for the DEMS.

I have Obambi at 285 MAX. He cannot afford to lose many of VA-13 CO-9 IA-6 NH-4. If he actually were to lose MICH-16 or PA-20, I think it would be over.

“that may be the only strategy Obama can put in play.”

From his mouth to God’s ears. We hope.

IMHO, these power types have tricks up their sleeves we little folk only dream up. It’s never “fair”.

There are all kinds of things Obama can do to turn things around for himself. Radical things. Total war things. For instance, he’s proven he’s more than capable of shaking up the MidEast. Wrecking the economy. Opening the borders. Destroying the military.

Granted, he hasn’t done it yet in a totally blatent, Chavez type way but he’s working on it (“Believe me, the idea of doing things on my own is very tempting. I promise you.”)

He can do a lot more in the mideast, and follow the FDR model of getting elected. He’s already passed the “dream act” like he’s Nero. He is the most anti-business president I’ve ever seen. Any business that dares to get up (private airline production) he pounds back into the ground. He’s tearing after the family like a true psychotic, simply announcing he won’t enforce DADT or the DOMA. All those claims of being “pro-marriage” - he simply says one thing while doing another.

And of course look at his cohort Holder, who simply doesn’t enforce civil rights laws that don’t favor radical blacks.

And the economy? Look at gold, the canary in the mine. Obamacare is ensuring no small business can function, which will destroy our properity. Heck, he destroyed the space industry in FL in his first year. It’s GONE.

By the time 2012 comes along, he may have done so much damage who knows what will happen. We could be in WWIII. We could be in total economic meltdown. I am personally convinced the only thing keeping this megalomaniac from seizing total power is the 2nd amendment. Whoops, he’s after that too.

He is simply the most evil president I’ve ever seen. I remember a prophecy someone wrote before he became president and it seems to be slowly coming true.

Sorry for the long rant but this man is more dangerous than we realize. My gut tells me he’s going all out in the next year to destroy every single thing strong about America. And foolish people are easily swayed.

As stupid as it sounds, I believe his margin of victory in Ohio was made up of people who took him at his word that he was going to get us out of NAFTA. And they are not going to forget that.
