NC is possibly going red. It is still relatively purple, thanks to the Triad area, Chapel Hill/Durham and Fayetteville. Other than that, pretty much uniformly red, but those areas are the most densely populated.
However, official (i.e., undercounted) unemployment is 9.9% here, which is an uptick. People are running out of cash. I've seen two-dollar bills, Sacajaweya dollars and just plain coins coming out in droves as people empty their resources just to pay for gas. This is not a happy state at all.
Add to that the NC House and Senate are succeeding in overturning Dem Gov Perdue's vetoes. They may overturn another one today (the House already did: require women to have an ultrasound before aborting). This state is trending red.
NC may reject the Won yet.
