And Obammy is tempted to “run things by himself”. You know, without Congress.
Not. Gonna. Happen.

Well, this ought to be fun as it unfolds. Get your dogs and ponies ready, because there’s going to be a show.

But all political issues are fundamentally moral issues. The basic question in the moral sphere is “How ought we live our lives?” of which is part is the basic question in the political sphere, “How ought we organize our society?”
Ironically, it is precisely because even the question of the debt ceiling is ultimately a moral issue, that Krugman’s advocacy of censoring views opposed to his is so contemptible.

Evidently back in the 1990’s before he lost his mental faculties (possibly from guilt over having served as an advisor to Enron), Krugman used to understand international trade pretty well, and wrote solid analytical papers on the subject. The Swedish Nobel Committee, that gives out the economics, literature and scientific prizes is less politicized than the Norwegian Nobel Committee that gives out the “Peace” Prize and based their citations on that work, not his loony NYTimes columns.

I think all of the NY Times columnists have daycreamed in print about how China’s political system is superior to ours.

For Breivik he's targeting IslamNo, his target was Muslim immigration to his country. Otherwise he had no problem with Muzzies and even considered them possible allies in a future war against Europe. 6 Myths about Norway Killer http://sultanknish.blogspot.com/2011/07/debunking-6-myths-about-anders-breivik.html

not raising the debt ceiling is not a default there will be plenty of revenue to pay the interest on the debt and keep SS checks going out.

Krugman must have syphillis eating away at his brain.
I mean, liberals are brain dead, but this is beyond the pale.

This thread is about the Neofascist Commie Krugman at the NYT covering up for his buddy in Norway.
Your comment is directed more toward the grammatical construct to link Krugman to Breivik and the Unibomber than it is to any of the ideas I'm pushing.
Suffice it to say they all three have targets but Krugman is not yet as deteriorated as the other two which means he's not as dangerous at this time.

I could be in error regarding how far his mind has deteriorated. He does seem horribly detached from any reality with which anyone else is familiar.
Could be months, maybe just weeks, and he's going to drown in his toilet when he forgets which hairy end is supposed to be up!

Just for fun, go read the comments on DU; they're beside themselves thanks to the forces of moderation within their own party - bemoaning the admission of the Blue Dogs, etc., and decrying the rightward drift of the nation. Krugman is their pied piper today - his uncompromisingly left-wing vision, coupled with disdain for conservatives (served up with its usual dose of haughty condescension), and seasoned with the need for media-imposed censorship for own good (cue sheep noises) really has their bleeding hearts fluttering.

Please explain, I’d love to understand how much money we’ll have till the ceiling is truly met.

Reaching the debt ceiling is not a “default”, default means not being able to pay the interest on the debt.
Without the debt ceiling the US government will still collect around $200 Billion this month in revenue, the interest on the debt is around $20B or something. Social Security checks is about $50Billion.
They need to trim the size of the federal government, abolish everything that is unnecessary and unconstitutional like the Dept of Education. The fedgov needs to live within its means.

Will that 200 billion suffice with all the general expenses? I’m trying to figure at what point are we floating around a danger zone....?
