Gallup: Perry emerges as Romney's main rival (Palin numbers very interesting)

. Palin's ideological divide. This is weird. She actually scores better with self-described "liberal" and "moderate" Republicans (14%) than with "conservative" Republicans (11%).

In fact, she doubles Bachmann among liberals and moderates, and Bachmann beats her among conservatives.

I would think that's because she has not declared as far as the conservatives are concerned. However, interesting results for the other self-described.

Perry, Bachmann, Cain, Gingrich and Santorum all contribute to making Palin look relatively measured in her politics. That is, less of a social crusader (or subservient wife) and less likely to say something over-the-top unPC.

I think her conservative competition helps to make her look more palatable to moderates and independents.

Give me a break. Perry is NOT married to Mexico. He is a genuine fiscal and social conservative. He has a proven track record. He can beat Obama. Just who the hell is YOUR candidate?

Interesting take. The real news here is that Cain is still leading in positive intensity, and has been for 10 weeks straight. His name recognition is increasing every week.

Perry gives taxpayer money to children of illegal aliens for in state tuition, but not for American citizens out of state! the guy is another Bush who’s too MARRIED to his MEHICANO neighbors. he criticized the AZ law right away, that should have been your first clue.

I think Tim Pawlenty should pull up stakes. He had his moment at the debate when he could have ripped into Romneycare and didn’t. He lost it there IMO. I’m looking at Perry (if he runs which looks likely) Cain and Bachman as my candidates now. Although I do want to know more about these migraines that Bachman has. Is it real or was that a hitpiece? If she has migraines which incapacitate her and put her in a hospital, that is serious and disqualifies her IMO.

There comes a time you need to get behind the candidate with the best chance of beating Obama. Perry is that man. He also is the Governor of Texas which has a sizeable Hispanic population that he needs to deal with. I look at his economic record and his conservative credentials and conclude he is the BEST guy in the field. Not PERFECT, but the BEST. Who’s your guy?

Palin

He is Romney with a pistol. Look who he has supported in the past for president. Look at some of the decisions he’s made only to be stopped by an angry public and the Texas legislature. Check his stance on illegal immigration, private property right vs eminent domain , etc

Look at what he’s done, not what he says in his public and personal life.

If Sarah got 1/10 of the fawning that fox and other conservative radio host give to Perry she would be second. It is a shame that so many conservatives stab her in the back when she has done so much for the Conservative movement.

Let’s assume for the sake of argument that Palin does not run,and I don’t think she will. Who is your candidate then?

Don’t count out Herman Cain yet!

He’s really smart, experienced and articulate, and is saying the right things. And he would immediately neuter Obama’s “race advantage”.

Can you imagine him vs. Obama in a teleprompter-less debate, man, he would utterly destroy the Kenyan Imposter!!

I always find it amusing that so many people treat polls as Gospel! Completely boggles my mind, each pollster has a agenda of some type, all of them.

Just do not believe in the “science” of partisan political polling, have held this view for years and years. None of these pollsters(NONE)can poll without showing their bias.

My personal belief is that the nomination is Sarah`s if she wants it. She will never lead a poll from here on out, that is just the way they have it set up, but it`s her nomination if she wants it.

As for Perry, as far as I am concerned he can never mention Ronald Reagan as being someone of importance to him, the guy voted for Al Gore, long after Reagan was gone from the scene!

The pollsters are moving some of their manufactured opinion from Michele to Perry, now the pollsters are jointly pushing Perry and Bachmann, with emphases on Perry.
