Terrorist proclaimed himself 'Darwinian,' not 'Christian'

Terrorist proclaimed himself 'Darwinian,' not 'Christian' Norwegian's manifesto shows Breivik not religious, having no personal faith

WASHINGTON – A review of Anders Behring Breivik's 1,500-page manifesto shows the media's quick characterization of the Norwegian terrorist as a "Christian" may be as incorrect as it was to call Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh one.

Breivik was arrested over the weekend, charged with a pair of brutal attacks in and near Oslo, Norway, including a bombing in the capital city that killed 7 and a shooting spree at a youth political retreat on the island of Utoya that killed more than 80 victims.

Piecing together Breivik's various posts on the Internet, many media reports have characterized the terrorist – who says he was upset over the multiculturalist policies stemming from Norway's Labour Party – as a "right-wing, Christian fundamentalist."

Yet, while McVeigh rejected God altogether, Breivik writes in his manifesto that he is not religious, has doubts about God's existence, does not pray, but does assert the primacy of Europe's "Christian culture" as well as his own pagan Nordic culture.

Breivik instead hails Charles Darwin, whose evolutionary theories stand in contrast to the claims of the Bible, and affirms: "As for the Church and science, it is essential that science takes an undisputed precedence over biblical teachings. Europe has always been the cradle of science, and it must always continue to be that way. Regarding my personal relationship with God, I guess I'm not an excessively religious man. I am first and foremost a man of logic. However, I am a supporter of a monocultural Christian Europe."

The terrorist also candidly admits he finds no support within either the Catholic or Protestant churches for his violent ideas.

It’s cute the way you are such a prick.

You almost make it seem like an admirable trait, or a virtue.

Are your kids pricks? That would explain your efforts at justification.

Be proud of them. Rejoice in their “prickness.”

DU pays trolls fairly well, I’m told.

I swore off conversing with HG. It’s pointless.

No, he was being what he is very good at and that is being a total prick. Maybe because its none of your f*cking business. Perhaps Ken21 doesn't need to explain shit to you at all.

To borrow a well-known qoute, "I hate rude behavior in a man. I won't tolerate it."

I think you are going to be one depressed fellow when you return to the Maker that sent you. What will you do IF you find Luther greeting you at those gates? All souls return to the Maker that sent them. And no authority was given to any flesh being on this earth to 'judge' which side of the gulf any soul returns. The 'saints' were set aside from the beginning of this flesh age because of what they did in the heaven/earth age that was. That is at least what Peter says in the keys he put into writing.

It’s cute the way you excuse illiteracy.

I'm pretty sure Ken21 can read and write.

So now my responses are rude? That’s rich. Who’s got the thinner skin now?

Yeah....I'm pretty sure that's not sound doctrine.

Good Lord. People are massacred and two people on Free Republic are only concerned with capital letters.

Yeah....I'm pretty sure that's not sound doctrine.

Ephesians 1:4 According as He hath chosen us in Him *before* the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love:

5 Having *predestinated* us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,....

Paul penned the doctrine. I think it was put there for a purpose, regardless what flesh beings down through the ages decide a sound doctrine should say.

He plans and executes complex and horrific acts of violence, then, allegedly at the request of a ten-year-old, he abruptly halts the massacre.

Maybe he just ran out of bullets.

This thread went off topic precisely at post #12, compliments of your hero.

You can thank him for all this.

You can thank him for all this.

He wasn't the only one to blame. I contributed as well, so did others, including you.

However, I am trying to get back on topic. If you really want to help, then do the same.

Once again, a thread about an important topic is hijacked by HG. I wish there could be a special place for him to go and teach grammar and punctuation to everyone and leave us alone.

Of course, it’s our fault for responding to him.

And, by the way, no one ever told me that one has to ping the person one is speaking about and I don’t believe that person has earned the courtesy.

Hello Daniell..trust you're staying cool in this hot weather.

Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.” (John 18:36)

Yes, I had forgotten this. Thank you for posting it.

As dastardly as Breivik is.. he is also an intriguing study. You are right about his wrong faith and wrong time to be living. I think his involvement with Masonic Rituals and study of certainly aided furtherance of his intentions...it afforded him a "title" he so much desired...as we see how he signed himself as a Knight.

I can't yet bring myself to think he's insane though. Very much meticulous about what he does and even in his own appearances. He even wrote about going to a tanning salon just to be certain his appearance was "fresh" looking.

Every small detail and large he was meticulous in..and i think even to that of how the media will handle this once he has a stage. The best thing the authorities can do is give him no stage at all...course that's not going to happen.

I tend to doubt he had much familiarity with the scriptures...though used them to support his agenda. But what's your take on all this Daniel...outside the obvious atrocity of it all.

I find it interesting that Breivik apparently thinks that Protestants should all convert to Catholicism.

If I am not mistaken, Norway is a Lutheran (protestant) country, so this is another slap in the face of his country.

Done. You won't hear a peep from me again on this thread unless I'm spoken to directly in which case I'll respond in kind.

Signing off now. Good night and take care.

"Of course, it’s our fault for responding to him."

Guilty as charged. Trust me, I tried really hard not to say anything.

"...and I don’t believe that person has earned the courtesy."

Which is exactly why I didn't put his name there.

Thanks and have a good night :)
