Terrorist proclaimed himself 'Darwinian,' not 'Christian'

Terrorist proclaimed himself 'Darwinian,' not 'Christian' Norwegian's manifesto shows Breivik not religious, having no personal faith

WASHINGTON – A review of Anders Behring Breivik's 1,500-page manifesto shows the media's quick characterization of the Norwegian terrorist as a "Christian" may be as incorrect as it was to call Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh one.

Breivik was arrested over the weekend, charged with a pair of brutal attacks in and near Oslo, Norway, including a bombing in the capital city that killed 7 and a shooting spree at a youth political retreat on the island of Utoya that killed more than 80 victims.

Piecing together Breivik's various posts on the Internet, many media reports have characterized the terrorist – who says he was upset over the multiculturalist policies stemming from Norway's Labour Party – as a "right-wing, Christian fundamentalist."

Yet, while McVeigh rejected God altogether, Breivik writes in his manifesto that he is not religious, has doubts about God's existence, does not pray, but does assert the primacy of Europe's "Christian culture" as well as his own pagan Nordic culture.

Breivik instead hails Charles Darwin, whose evolutionary theories stand in contrast to the claims of the Bible, and affirms: "As for the Church and science, it is essential that science takes an undisputed precedence over biblical teachings. Europe has always been the cradle of science, and it must always continue to be that way. Regarding my personal relationship with God, I guess I'm not an excessively religious man. I am first and foremost a man of logic. However, I am a supporter of a monocultural Christian Europe."

The terrorist also candidly admits he finds no support within either the Catholic or Protestant churches for his violent ideas.

“However, I am a supporter of a monocultural Christian Europe.”

Does`nt matter if he isn`t “formally” a Christian. Thats all the left needs to paint him as one.

Sorry, I agree with HG.

You are known by what and how you write your replies on FR.

There is nothing else we can use. If you don’t use proper grammar, spelling, and capitalization, then one has little left except to conclude you are an idiot, or are six years old.

If the reason for lack of proper capitalization is because of laziness, then your time would be better spent elsewhere. I have some posters who are not that proficient in English, due to it being a second language to them, and yet they at least make the effort to TRY and do things correctly.

Or would you rather have people regard FR as a place where only IDIOTS and CHILDREN post?

IIRC, he’s not a farmer, but owns some sort of agriculturally-based company.

He rented a farm in April 2011 to provide a ruse to buy fertilizer.

Prior to renting the farm he created a phony business name.

I’ll bet that doens’t get much publicity.

Justly so, mainly because it appears to be a Whirled Nut beat-up.

Googleing this guy + Darwin gets: the WorldNet article, people quoting it, and news reports bylined Darwin, Australia.

Why the sarcasm?

Its a well known fact that Grynszpan was not altogether a mental giant. He shot the German ambassador to France, who subsequently died. There are a lot of theories that he was “helped” by co-conspirators “unknown”. Like this yeahoo in Norway, he was really proud of what he had done. Like this yeahoo in Norway, his rational for his deed was like a cow pie, scattered all over the place.

We will never know all the facts. But one thing is for sure, when a totalitarian bunch in charge of a government decide to create chaos in order to provide the “answer” to that chaos, things will get really testy.

No sarcasm here, my fear is that this is an engineered “crisis” that is going to usher in draconian remedies.

It all appears to be a politically motivated attack. Good bet that Europe is on the verge of a civil war and it wont be pretty.

ken21 might be a young kid who texts a lot. You see this all the time, with the way these young kids write text messages to each other. Short and to the point, no concern for proper punctuation, but they get their message across. Bet he can't even do simple math problems without a calculator? /s

No offense, but times have changed. I still remember the days of going to the library to do a term paper, using the books in there.

But I'm glad ken21 is here on FR. There is hope for the next generation.

Not everyone can write as eloquently as you think you can.

It is not eloquence that is at question. It is GRADE SCHOOL educational concepts.

Unfortunately, most of our younger generations neither know how to write eloquently, nor how to use proper grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. If you write like that, then you leave others little choice than to conclude you are uneducated in the basics. That means your CREDIBILITY is zero.

The real question here is whether the original source of this argument did not capitalize properly because he/she is ignorant, or just LAZY, or TEXTING from their (name your own portable device here) while driving through traffic.

(blush)

My earlier post notwithstanding, (it was an effort to diffuse the harshness) when push comes to shove, I really do have to side with you on this.

Nothing detracts from your message more than simpleton English and stupid mistakes.

Makes me wonder if you are not a troll intent on making our side look like semi literate imbeciles.

He was also a Freemason. Most Christian churches do not allow Freemasons in their ranks.

Didn’t he rent it from an incarcerated marijuana farmer?

If so, that’s a relationship worth looking into.

Thanks ReformationFan. He's a full-on Loon, and that's about it. He's not conservative, and he's not "right wing".

Heh heh, give me a single typewritten page of humblegunner's writing to proofread, and I'd bet I could find at least five errors.

That may be true. But at least he knows where the CAPS key is, and his writing doesn't resemble something a 6 year old would type into FACEBOOK.

Maybe you and I and others here can teach these young ones a thing or two, about true conservatism (and punctuation). Imagine what DU would teach him?
