Word has come that FReeper gulfcoast 6 has passed away. Toby was a regular member of the America The Right Way thread, and was a FReeper in good standing since 1999.
Toby had many friends on this forum and his wise, gentle posts and warm humor will be sorely missed. He has gone to his glory in Christ and joins his wife Treva who preceeded him in death and whom he lovingly posted about after her death.
Toby loved God, his dear family (who he proudly posted about often) and his friends. We will all miss him and look forward to the time we see him again in Eternity.
Rest In Peace, dear FRiend.
Toby... Rest in peace. You were a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, and one who lived and practiced his faith on a daily basis.
God Bless you my friend!
RIP dear Toby.
Enjoy those heavenly grits.
RIP
We will miss you guy.
Condolences to your daughter and grandchildren.
Say hi to Treva for us.

Prayers up for his family!
So sorry for your loss, Dolly.
Prayers for God’s blessings on all.
Toby was what he was, a southern gentleman. I will miss "my big brother".
Toby was a good man, always enjoyed his posts. God Bless him and may he rest in God’s arms.
Thanks for posting the picture Dolly.
Sad to lose a FReeper of longstanding.
Thanks for posting this about Toby. His Grandchildren are very blessed to have had such a good Granddad. He was so proud of them. Don’t you know it is hard on those little boys to go to the “shack in the back” My heart and prayers go out to the entire family. Denco
AH NO! I am so very sorry to hear this news. Toby was a true southern gentleman - caring and loving. I must say that I am celebrating a little bit too because he and Treva are together once again. When Larry died, he wrote me a note and shared my grief in losing a mate and we both decided we would be counting the days when we were once again joined with out soul mates. GOD BLESS YOU TOBY....
I’m bringing this over from the funeral home’s web page:
Obituary for Toby WoodToby Wood, 75, born March 26, 1936, in Greenville, MS, passed away on July 23, 2011, in Saucier.

Toby was a man of honor who loved the Lord, his country, and his family. His life was devoted to serving others through his military service and extensive law enforcement career. He began with the Greenville Police Dept. where he set records with arrests and solved several high profile case. He then became Chief of Police in the cities of Belzoni and Pearl. In 1973 and 1974 he served as president of the MS Chiefs of Police. Toby stood for Civil Rights in the MS Delta by fighting the KKK earning the respect of the black community. He was ahead of his time with his efforts to help keep kids off drugs by speaking to youth groups all over the country on the dangers of drugs. In the early 1970’s he helped to write the drug laws for the state of MS. He also pushed for the formation of the MS Bureau of Narcotics.
After retiring from law enforcement, he owned Wood Investigative Services and DST America. In his last years, Toby lived his life in the country, riding his tractor, loving to help the neighbors by cutting their yards. He was most happy being Paw Paw and spending all his time bringing joy to his grandchildren and all those around him.
A great man has gone to be with the Lord and his beloved wife Treva. They spent 43 years together on earth and now have eternity with each other. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and church family.
