Ten weeks pregnant, Lindsay OBrien says she never thought twice about racing out of her Market Frankford El Train car at the 63rd St. Station last Wednesday when an alleged thief tried to steal her purse.
In an exclusive interview with Eyewitness News, the 28-year-old expectant mom from Delaware County says she chased Vaughn Matthews, a career criminal with a dozen arrests going back 19 years, down a stairwell, but when she tried to get her bag from him, he lashed out, breaking her wrist and punching her in the stomach.
Thats when OBrien says she drew on her 3.5 years of kick-box training, leveling a kick at the suspects shin, shattering it in two places.
Officers say they found Matthews, screaming in pain, lying on the street.
OBrien says after being checked out at the hospital, her baby is fine.

If I was her after breaking his leg I would’ve twisted that bad boy so bad he’d have sh1t his pants.
Good for her!!
Don't you love it when some scrote picks on the wrong female. :)
Too bad she didn't deliver a second somewhat higher on his anatomy, or maybe she did and no one wants to mention it. :)
Somehow I knew she’d look something like that. But then again one of my wife’s former students runs a Tae Kwon Do school, and I watch their videos. Plus my granddaughter, 6, is a yellow belt in Tang Soo Do, another Korean Discipline, and I’ve gone to their tournament. You see lots of gals, of all ethnic groups, that have that look. I certainly would not want to be messing with any of the older ones. Or my wife’s former student, who has 3 kids herself now. Not sure I’d want to mess with her. I take that back I’m sure I wouldn’t want to mess with her.
poor alignment of the ankle and knee joints. The leg needs to swing in a plane from the hip with all joints alinged to the plane. Weak. If she broke a mans leg, he had to be seriously deficient in calcium.
Not the same woman.
Who said it was?
The way your post was worded, made it seem like you thought that was how the woman kicked.
Apparently, you CAN get to heaven on the Frankford El. /s
Just one more kick might have sent him to .....well then again, maybe not heaven.
A bump for a GREAT story with a HAPPY ending.
I love this story.
I’m thinking of finding a kick boxing class.
