As governor of Texas, Rick Perry has argued that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has strangled business and interfered with state environmental efforts, and he has championed a half-dozen lawsuits challenging federal air pollution and greenhouse gas regulations.
The dispute with the EPA serves as a proxy for larger Perry arguments about states' rights versus federal power. It "illustrates how Washington's command-and-control environmental bureaucracy is destroying federalism and individuals' ability to make their own economic decisions," Perry wrote in his book "Fed Up! "
So, should he run for the White House and win, how would a President Perry treat the EPA?
From his rhetoric and record as governor, one might think that he'd be tempted to dissolve the agency. He has actively loosened regulations in the name of economic development and denied that scientific consensus exists on climate change, ascribing anxieties about greenhouse gases to a "secular carbon cult."

We don't need a government that uses junk science as an excuse to control the population.
yes.
Oh no, this is going to piz off the Perry haters.

Another plus for Perry.
How is being for it before he was against it going to do anything, I mean when he was pushing stealing all that ranch land for the trans Texas corridor boondoggle, he claimed it was for the environment among a thousand other whoppers.
Oh, damn I forgot that was when he was for the corridor, before he was against it. So many flip flops so little time.
I’m kinda confused, when it comes to bad things like amnesty for illegals I’m told that he’s a powerless governor who does what the legislature tells him. When its good things he’s a virtual magician who does things with a wave of his hand.
Yes, and perhaps if Perry does not gain the nomination for the presidency, he could best serve the people by accepting an appointment to this Cabinet-Rank position as Administrator of the EPA.
Cracks me up every time you do that to a Perry thread.
Naturally.
What has EPA restictions got to do with the TTC?
And even better yet...what highway, railroad or rabbit trail did not involve “stealing” land from owners? Emminent domain exists. I have been a victim. But is not exclusive to Perry or any other governmental agency.
And did it pass...is there a TTC?
(just sayin')
Does she get Tweats from Weiner?
You needed to be better connected to the power clique. Gov't purchases can work wonders for one's bank accounts.
The author tried his best to warn everyone how horrible a Perry administration would be for the environment.
What he didn't realize was how conservatives would see it as welcome news. If Perry became president, and if I worked for the EPA, I would send out my resume. Perry has a record that is going to be hard to argue with...he HATES the EPA.
I can only assume that someone who looks as good as Perry is subject to all kinds of tweets.
“She looks like a hippy chick.”
Ha! At first glance, I read that as “ She looks like a happy chick”. Which in other photos, she does look like a happy chick too.
***Does she get Tweats from Weiner?***
I got a twitch in mine! At my age that’s all I get! :-(
