No one knows where Casey Anthony is, but America's most notorious recent murder defendant doesn't have to fret about her legal bills reaching her.
That's because $119,000 in defense fees racked up during her trial—which produced a shocking not-guilty verdict in her home jurisdiction of Orlando, Fla., earlier this month—have been picked up by Florida taxpayers. The same is true for another pending $5,800 in fees that Anthony's attorney Jose Baez has billed to his client's case, putting the overall taxpayer tab at just shy of $125,000.

She’s been locked up for three years and just went through a capital case trial and you’re complaining that her attorney bills were only $125,000? Give me a break! How much do you think the incompetent prosecutor made in that time? He was paid for by the taxpayers too...

She was accused by the taxpayers of a crime, and found innocent. She is also indigent. Who do you think should pay?

YES, and the incompetent prosecutors overcharged her and they spent more money than necessary to prosecute her.
Can you imagine Clemens attorney fees total. I bet couple million at least.
Anthony bill sounds like a bargain, 125K especially when the appointed attorney successful.
She didn’t get a court-appointed public defender because Casey and/or her family initially hired Baez or contacted him and he made a court appearance for her. After that, she claimed she couldn’t afford an attorney and Baez was it. I am not sure at all how Baez got all of the others to join the team, but I believe that they worked it pro bono, probably just for the exposure that they all received.
And this is all a secret during the trial.

I’m sure Anthony’s lawyers charged an hourly rate commensurate with what value was placed on a public defenders time. Hell, the trial and everything spanned THREE YEARS. Her lawyers made $119,000...that’s less than $40K/yr for her representation.
Baez would have to defend 6 Casey Anthony’s/yr to crack $250K.
The brain dead jury should have to pay.
Just wait till Casey Anthony starts getting her blood money, then all of the claims of fatherhood are going to start coming out of the woodwork. Somebody is going to claim that he was the father who was denied his right to be Caylee’s dad by a mother who kept the birth from him.
