During his town hall meeting in Maryland today on the debt crisis, President Obama found time to answer critics who think his position (and positions) have a socialist flavor. And he joked about it.
This isnt just some wild-eyed socialist position, its the position being taken by people of both parties and no party, he said with with a smirk as the audience chuckled and after talking about shared sacrifice:
Obama seems well aware of his critics. For example, on radio today Glenn Beck labeled the president a Marxist.
Less than two weeks away from a debt ceiling deadline, President Barack Obama sought Friday to pressure House Republicans to come around to a deal that he insisted must include new taxes which he calls revenues as well as spending cuts.
At the same time, even with no clear end in sight to negotiations that have dragged on for weeks, the president asserted that the U.S. has never defaulted on its debt and wont do so now.

This is how the immature are made to comply...mostly college age persons and the willingly sheepish group thinkers. It is a form of psychological control/manipulation and abuse that the left so proficient uses when they want to deflect. It is a sort of psychological warning..."don't go there or you are out".
Actually, beck is wrong. Zero is a fascist, not a marxist.
Funny guy.
Bingo. He does that all the time - and the press laughs right along with him. .
revenues
The new talking point from the left. The word taxes will now be deleted from the English language.
Yes, Obama routinely gets it wrong when something serious and/or tragic strikes America.
Obama at Fort Hood, following the massacre (by a Muslim) of unarmed US servicemen and women:
“I want to thank my Cabinet members and senior administration officials who participated today. I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow was around, and so I want to give a shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner. It’s good to see you.”
Unfortunately, the truth is much more boring than that: he's just a run-of-the mill modern European-style social democrat.
He wants a big, redistributive welfare state funded by high and progressive taxes, together with powerful labor unions. I've seen no evidence that he wants to foment a violent proletarian revolution to sieze the means of production, as a Marxist would. Neither have I seen any evidence that he wants to restrict all economic activity to state-approved industrial cartels and labor syndicates, as a facist would.
Of course, I'm willing to be corrected if someone shows me some evidence.
GM, Chrysler, and GE all all examples of Fascism, as is ACORN, the SEIU, the UAW, and, oddly enough, the Indiana Teacher’s Union Retirement Fund - the senior chrysler bondholder Obama gave a haircut to give the money to FIAT and the UAW.
All illegal, all examples of the regime picking winners and losers, outside the law, but according to the whim of the ruler.
That IS fascism. It is the definition of the thing.
“Of course, I’m willing to be corrected if someone shows me some evidence.”
Oh stop that. I sent you two links, documenting Obama’s hardcore, revolutionary marxism in his own words, and you didn’t read either one.
and here you are once again defending your Messiah. Get lost troll.
And there are the hundreds of favored entities who have been granted exemptions from the barry bassturd fascist ‘healthcare’ controls.
Your tagline says it all - fascism will come to america, not calling itself fascism, but calling itself anti-fascism.
Who did I steal that from? I forget.
