Third O’Keefe video punks NYC Medicaid workers
The Daily Caller ^ | 7/20/11 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 07/20/2011 8:43:06 AM PDT by ponygirl

Conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe released the third installment in his Medicaid fraud video investigation Wednesday. The new footage shows a government employee in New York City assisting a fictitiously named man, “Mario,” with a Medicaid application.

In the video, the man said he’s an out-of-work plumber who has “some stuff” he does “on the side.” Mario begins explaining to the Medicaid worker in New York that he sells “mushrooms.”

“I don’t want to raise any red flags in terms of what I’m doing,” Mario said. “I don’t know how to put it down exactly.”

The Medicaid worker interrupts Mario. “Don’t, don’t tell me nothing,” the worker said. “I don’t want to know nothing.” (Second O’Keefe Medicaid video shows workers in SC, NC helping ‘IRA’)

Mario then said he didn’t want “tax people or the police getting anything.” The Medicaid worker replies to Mario’s concern by saying: “They’ll just take your word.”

Mario went on to say his “girlfriend,” named “Peach,” is pregnant and asked if she’d be able to get Medicaid as well. Mario said Peach is an exotic dancer, and does not report her income because she only makes cash.

Another Medicaid worker in what appears to be the same New York office, this time a woman, tells Mario that Peach would “need a letter from her job stating what she makes.”

“We definitely going to need that, okay?,” the woman in the Medicaid office told Mario. “We got to show that somebody was doing some kind of work somewhere, okay? Is she still dancing?” (First Medicaid sting: Fake Russian drug dealers pimp out underage sisters, get advice on Medicaid)

>>>Had to look it up. You are quite correct. For some obscure reason I was thinking both brothers were named Mario.<<<

You must be thinking of Larry’s brother Darryl and his other brother Darryl from Newhart. :)

This sort of endemic corruption has brought down empires throughout all history.

True. However, waste, fraud, and corruption (as well as Unions) have been around a long time.

Back during the Depression, the WPA, The government funded DAM projects, the WH Admin were notified that there was a lot of money being spent, and not much getting done.

They wanted to send out teams to visit work sites (notifying the Contractor and the Union Leader ahead of time of their visit), and have them see what was wrong.

Two men decided that this would never work, so they took a convertible and just drove across the country, visiting these government funded worksites and work programs. They would just drive up, stop, get out and act like to lost rubes, or a couple of gawky tourists, asking questions of the workers about what they were building, etc.

This 'team' found millions and millions of dollars being lost to corruption and their information put a big clamp on most of the waste and fraud.

FOR BONUS POINTS, name one of these men. (Hint, He is one of the most well known people in the US History)

(sorry about the atrocious grammar. I just reread it and I reads as if English is my second language. Apparently I have a brain cloud.)

Should have showed up with a sidekick, his brother Mario.

Ummm... I don't profess to be an expert on early Nintendo, but shouldnt that be 'his brother Luigi'?

Mario. A plumber. Mushrooms. Princess Peach.

That's a riot! I totally missed the Super Mario reference. I thought "Peach" was a bit unusual, but hey, she's an exotic dancer, so it fits!

They are government leeches helping redistribute YOUR WEALTH to other leeches, what do you expect?!

Exactly. Most lower level bureaucratic positions in wealth redistribution offices are make-work jobs for inner city deadbeats who couldn't get a job waiting tables in a bar. Pretty much the same for the TAS jobs in the large metro airports. Chicago airport is a prime example.

She gets a lot of coin with her stripping over at the Koopa Lounge. Put 50 in her g-string and she’ll dance like she has a new life. But her boss, Mr. Bowser, is a slimy reptile who takes a good chunk of it to keep her in virtual captivity. I’d like to rescue her from that one of these days.

You think it’s bad? Well, let’s toss out an extra “bad” piece. You’ll love it. Even if you include the fraudsters, the amount of money that gets to welfare recipients, after the graft from the politicians and welfare office folks of every dollar we spend is $.135. Thirteen and a half cents on the dollar and we’re probably sending nearly half of it to fraudsters. If we cut out the overhead and made it cleaner of a program and dumped the fraudsters, we’d be close to eliminating our deficit.

I don’t agree with a lot of what Truman did, but there has always been a lot to like about the guy. Thanks.
