Water is wet. The sky is blue. The United States is insolvent. None of these will change anytime soon.
Yet as The Great Debt Ceiling Debate continues, it is fascinating to watch both sides spin their rhetoric. President Obama, saying the U.S. must raise its debt limit or the government will default, has apparently forgotten that he and his party have spent incomprehensible amounts of money to put us at that level.
Many on the right seem content to play the blame game, arguing that Obama and the Democrats are solely responsible, conveniently forgetting that George W. Bush (who inherited a budget surplus) and his Republican Congress more than doubled the national debt during their watch...

No. McConnells plan will allow obama to come out smelling like a Rose. If the House stands Obama will have to try and use the 14th amendment excuse to spend anyway. --------------------------
I don't think it is possible for this country to have a more sorry bunch of losers running the show. |
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell -- ''I will take that blue pill.
Barack Jackwagon Obama says it'll help the nation... steer for the cliff!'' /sarc
Next year they plan to only go in the hole for another trillion in debt instead of $1.5 trillion. Then each year, they'll keep adding debt. But over 10 years it will $3.7 trillion less debt then if they keep doing what they're doing now. The Gang of Six proposal leaves the specifics up to Congressional committees to hammer out in the future. There's no guarantee Congress will actually act on the bigger spending cuts. This suits Obama to a 'T'. A so-called plan with no specifics of their own, rather they leave it up to someone else. That's typical Obama style. Nothing but promises form politicians. The gangbang of 6 has done their dirty work. Fool the American people once more and allow Obama to continue borrowing. Where are the cuts? How about a few of these: AMTRAK (National Railroad Passenger Corporation) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Appalachian Regional Commission Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board Arctic Research Commission Arms Control and International Security Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Interagency Coordinating Committee Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation Bonneville Power Administration Botanic Garden Broadcasting Board of Governors Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) Bureau of Industry and Security Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board Federal Citizen Information Center (FCIC) Federal Consulting Group Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council Federal Geographic Data Committee Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight Federal Housing Finance Board Federal Interagency Committee for the Management of Noxious and Exotic Weeds Federal Interagency Committee on Education Federal Interagency Council on Statistical Policy Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer Health Resources and Services Administration Helsinki Commission (Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe) Indian Arts and Crafts Board Information Resource Management College Innovation and Improvement Office Institute of Education Sciences Institute of Peace Interagency Alternative Dispute Resolution Working Group Interagency Council on Homelessness Inter-American Foundation National Economic Council National Endowment for the Arts National Endowment for the Humanities National Gallery of Art National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Start there! And cut that Cowboy poetry and shrimp on a treadmill spending tooooooooooo!!! |

Excuse me, I see Republicans on TV all the time taking on Obama and this big spending. Heck, I'll start with my own congressman, Steve King. He's all over the airwaves. He's on TV and he's on so many talk radio shows I can't even count them.
You are absolutely WRONG when you allege our congressional Republicans are not taking on Obama. I urge you to turn on FOX and CSPAN and start listening to talk radio. These people are courageous and I defend them.
I am no fan of Romney but it is a lie he is a communist.

“because the repulicowards refuse to engage in PUBLIC DEBATE to defend reason and logic.”
Probably doesn’t matter.
The majority of the “Public” apparently lacks the mental accuity to process cause and effect in regard to this spending mess. They absorb liberal sound bites as though they are pearls of wisdom from On High.
The venal, self-serving politicians (Democrats, RINO’s, and RINO’s-In-Training) complete the circle.
The accelerator is stuck and we’re now headed over the cliff.
Meanwhile, the jackasses natter on, rearranging deck chairs.

Kabuki Dictionary (ka-boo-key) pronunciation n. A type of popular Japanese Washington drama, evolved from the older No theater, in which elaborately costumed performers . . . use stylized movements, dances, and songs in order to enact tragedies and comedies.

Regardless of deficit-to-GDP ratio, the national debt-to-GDP ratio has still soared from 2000 to 2010, and over the long term, THAT is worrisome. It risks turning the U.S. into a giant Italy.
