Software Designer Reports Error in Anthony Trial

MIAMI — Assertions by the prosecution that Casey Anthony conducted extensive computer searches on the word “chloroform” were based on inaccurate data, a software designer who testified at the trial said Monday.

The designer, John Bradley, said Ms. Anthony had visited what the prosecution said was a crucial Web site only once, not 84 times, as prosecutors had asserted. He came to that conclusion after redesigning his software, and immediately alerted prosecutors and the police about the mistake, he said.

The finding of 84 visits was used repeatedly during the trial to suggest that Ms. Anthony had planned to murder her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, who was found dead in 2008. Ms. Anthony, who could have faced the death penalty, was acquitted of the killing on July 5.

She sure as hell didn't concoct chloroform.

Doesn't matter...YOU DON'T PUT OFF REPORTING A MISSING 2 YEAR OLD. That's pretty much all the evidence you need excepting opportunity. No nanny, no grandma, grandpa...only momma had opportunity.

Her not reporting it eliminates everyone else like a boyfriend, mailman, milkman, electrician...whomever.

Like I said about the jurors: 11 airheads and a plant!!

...I accidentally hit a porn site from work once. 84 times would not be “accidentally”...

See post #25. You're one accidental visit to that porn site likely resulted in dozens of hits.

I completely agree with you on that one. And it doesn’t take a genius to figure it out.

Cindy is a nurse. She would know about chloroform. It was used as an anesthetic at one time...but no more....and you can't buy it.

No reason at all for her to look it up...she already knows what the stuff is all about.

It’s all about context though.

To you it's just a maniac in the park wildly waving his arms in the air. To the "maniac" he just waked into a spider web that you can't see.

Concerned that the analysis using CacheBack could be wrong and that a woman’s life might be at stake, Mr. Bradley went back to the drawing board and redesigned a portion of his software to get a more accurate picture.

LOL! Here. My software sucks so let me rewrite it in the middle of the trial so it will get the right answer. Yay!

So a competing product gets it right and Mr Cacheback's stuff sucks wind.

The bigger question is why did OPD run both products? Perhaps it's well-known the law enforcement community that Mr Bradley's software is(was?) overly ambitious?

What trial were they talking about because the Defense DID present evidence that it was only one search. The Jury DID get the info I do believe.

>>And I don’t know anyone who has.<<

Well, meet one. Me. When you open the door of a dish washer during the drying cycle, if have put in detergent that contains chlorine you could be exposed to chloroform. Same thing with the clothes dryer with some softeners that you include.

I think that is the result of the problem described here.
