Politics is a blood sport.. “accidents” happen. Color me jaded but me thinks the new North Dakota state senate majority leader will be hand picked by oil, and the new leader’s priority will be passing oil tax breaks.. Now that the glue is gone it wont be a tough sell.

“He [Bob Stenehjem] was the glue that held (the Senate) together,” said Rep. Al Carlson, R-Fargo, the House majority leader. /June.18.2011 http://bit.ly/pIBLpY

Tax Break For Oil Industry Will Be Tough Sell To Citizens Paying $3.20 Gallon — Those were the words of Senate Majority Leader Bob Stenehjem today to Scott Hennen, talking about a plea from the states oil industry for a reduction in the states complicated and third-highest-in-the-nation oil extraction tax. /January.3.2011 http://bit.ly/q4Na0W
RIP.
Interesting. I caught this story last night at about 11 and called my son, who lives in Kasilof. He passed the scene as the troopers were cleaning up, but didn’t know anything about it, except that his wife, an ER nurse at the hospital said she was “busy” and couldn’t talk.
The son is now quite impressed with FR.
