Perry's credentials: As conservative as they come
Atlanta Journal Constitution ^ | July 17, 2011 | Chris Tomlinson

Posted on 07/17/2011 6:59:38 AM PDT by Clairity

If Texas Gov. Rick Perry runs for president, he'd bring along strong conservative credentials.

He's advocated laws that require a sonogram before an abortion and that force police to enforce federal immigration law.

Really? Being AlGore’s chief of staff in Texas is as conservative as it gets?

You know that was over 20 years ago. You know that Gore was running as a conservative Southern Democrat...not the liberal he is today.

You think time and people stand still?

Perry went one way and Algore went another.

We know his game and how he plays it.

With the three way primary in the GOP in 2010 and a Ron Paulist candidate in the mix, Perry waxed as if he wanted Texas to assert its soverignty.

A pile of political compost.

You got it.

He wanted to build a super duper corridor with highway, railway links etc.

It was to run north from the Mexican border.

Lots of land would have to have been seized to build it.

A great conservative who wanted to open up a corrdidor from the Mexican border for all things Mexican to enter the United States.

Way to go, Rick........

Perry is no Reagan, Perry is an Arlen Spector.

Here's some photos for your "Perry Is A Conservative" scrapbook (/snix).

2005 Houston Chronicle pic depicting Perry as an advocate for
"affordable housing," and "lending law reform" (read sub-prime defaults).

REFERENCE Federal government grants to ACORN---2003-2006:

<><> Dept of Housing and Urban Development: $8.2 million between 2003 and 2006; $1.6 million to ACORN affiliates.

<><> EPA $100,000 grant to ACORN in 2004 for a Louisiana Justice Project, which removed lead from the homes of low income families.

<><> Justice Dept grant in 2005 for a juvenile delinquency program.

===================================

According to later research, 40% of ACORN's operations were found to be funded through numerous grants it receives from various governmental entities. ACORN also receives funding from a variety of tax-exempt private charitable organizations: the Bauman Family Foundation, George Soros' Open Society Institute, the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and from corporate foundations, including JP Morgan Chase Foundation, Ben & Jerry's foundation, Bank of America Charitable Foundation, and Citigroup, as well as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and tax-exempt foundations affiliated with the founder of UPS.

=======================================

Senate Finance Committee Study (led by Sen Charles Grassley)

ACORN comprises a mind-boggling 94 different affiliates, that amounts to "a big shell game," a biting Senate Finance Committee study shows.

The study, by the staff of Sen Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), reveals four ACORN charity groups give more than half their revenue to taxable entities that engage in "impermissible lobbying and political activity."

ACORN and it’s subsidiaries for decades have moved taxpayer money into their own pockets and into the left-wing Marxist machine.

Sen Charles Grassley's documents show leaders of ACORN community groups transferred several million dollars in charitable and government money-----meant for the poor---- to parts of the group that have political (and sometimes profit-making) missions.

Sen Grassley's documents indicate that ACORN's tax-exempt groups----along with its tangled web of allied organizations---- used more than half their charitable and public money in 2006 to pay other ACORN affiliates.

ACORN also appears to have been involved in improper use of pension funds ..... some of the founder Rathke's embezzlment was apparently taken from the pension fund using ACORN's American Express card.

This displacement of funding led to the creation of a complex repayment system in which accused embezzler Dale Rathke owed ACORN, and ACORN in turn, owed ABA, which, for its part, wrote off part of the money. (Excerpt) Read more at spectator.org ........

No I was being silly—and honest.

In a good mood this morning.

On a serious note,Perry is behind Cain and Bachman on the conservative charisma scale while all will be behind Sarah Palin if she decides to run.

“Conservative charisma” means having the personal power to ignite the patriot passions of the conservative base. Prime evidence of this power is how brutal the MSM attacks you and how much Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh like you.
I'm willing to give Gov Perry his day in court should he run—when he goes up against the others—plus he has yet to make his bones going up against a deranged hostile national Leftist media like Sarah has done and Cain and Bachman are doing.

Both owned by the globalists.

Perry had also given enthusiastic support to former Mexican President Vicente Fox’s efforts to turn Texas into a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants. He also aggressively promoted the Rockefeller Foundation-backed HPV vaccination campaign in Texas

Perry was rumored to have attended the Bilderberg meeting in Swizerland in 2011. He attended the June 2007 Bilderberg conference in Istanbul, Turkey.

He’s the ultimate globalist – opposite to the image of the Tea Party populist that he attempts to portray. That’s why he’s the perfect pick for the globalists, someone who can suck in the trust of the American people only to stab them in the back upon becoming president.

Yes, he will be able to carry his home state. Especially given the alternative and Perry’s record. Cain is a great candidate and I absolutely love both him and Bachmann and since Perry is not running, I plan to pick between the two. But if Perry jumps in, I will be on that bandwagon for sure. Yes, I live in Texas. :)

It was a wide foreign owned but taxpayer built tollway with railroads down the middle, land to be seized through eminent domain. Including land at intersections with east/west highways so the state bureaucrats could award the spots for gas stations and restaurants there to lobbyist cronies only.

Which is why Perry could not carry Texas in a national election any better than Al Gore carried Tennessee.

Perry had to play games to win re-election in 2006 because a Republican, Carole Keeton Strayhorn, was running as an independent and he might have lost.

A guy named Kinky Friedman (no kidding) was in the race to make it a four way one and split off Democrat votes.

Perry was able to win.

Michael Reagan: Reagan’s vision lives on in Texas

“If you don’t believe Reaganomics can still work in this day and age, for whatever reason, I say you should look no further than the state of Texas...By almost any measure, Texas survived the global economic recession in dramatically better shape than any other state, continuing to add employers seeking to expand or relocate from across the country or around the world. What’s the secret behind the Texas Miracle? Low taxes, predictable and limited regulation and restrained government spending. Sound familiar?”

You are overreaching — to be diplomatic.

You yourself say Perry supported “affordable housing” — what’s wrong with affordable housing. Then, just because some ACORN members showed up for the picture, also supporting affordable housing, you go on and on about ACORN, when there is NO evidence that Perry supported ACORN, ever. This is not even “guilt by association”, this is smearing based on NO evidence.

Perry endorsed Giuliani.

Palin endorsed Perry.

What do you want to make of that?
