Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) on Friday strongly suggested that members of Congress are making it difficult for President Obama to raise the debt ceiling because of his race.
"I do not understand what I think is the maligning and maliciousness [toward] this president,” said Jackson Lee, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. “Why is he different? And in my community, that is the question that we raise. In the minority community that is question that is being raised. Why is this president being treated so disrespectfully? Why has the debt limit been raised 60 times? Why did the leader of the Senate continually talk about his job is to bring the president down to make sure he is unelected?”
Earlier in her speech, Jackson Lee said Obama has been targeted unlike any other president.
"I am particularly sensitive to the fact that only this president — only this one, only this one — has received the kind of attacks and disagreement and inability to work, only this one," said Jackson Lee from the House floor.
"Read between the lines," she continued. "What is different about this president that should put him in a position that he should not receive the same kind of respectful treatment of when it is necessary to raise the debt limit in order to pay our bills, something required by both statute and the 14th amendment?"
Jackson Lee concluded by saying that she hoped someone would step up and say that what appears obvious to her is not in fact true.
"I hope someone will say that what it appears to be is not in fact accurate," said Lee. "But historically it seems to be nothing more."
Logic requires a modicum of intellect and neither have a place in this troll’s thinking. Remember, this is the twit who asked if the Mars Rover could roll on over to where the astronauts, Armstrong and crew, planted the American flag.
His slightly-tanned skin bothers none of us. The only color that bothers any of us is the red of communism and socialism that he seems to embrace. His seeming desire to bring America down, his alienation of our most trusted allies, and his constant affiliation with the most leftwing causes, is insanity. Every decision he makes seems to be directed to the goal of harming the economy more: Flooding the money supply (inflation), letting the EPA run wild (joblessness), taxing business and individual (joblessness and poverty), pushing cap-and-trade (causing businesses to close -- joblesness, and causing individuals to pay much more for energy -- poverty).
You and your 'community' can think anything you want. We will not listen and cringe any more. Frankly, Ms Lee, I don't give a rat's ass whether you think I or anyone else is a racist. You don't factor up in my "things I need in life" backpack any more. Screw off.
I guess Queen Shelia wasn’t paying attention when her side (black and white) ridiculed President Bush daily.
Houston has a radio talk show guy, Michael Berry, who ridicules Shelia Jackson Lee almost daily. I can’t wait to hear him on 740 AM on Monday. Should be a blast! :D
That's how I see it. There is lots of work to do. "This will be no light task." If socialist collectives were DEFUNDED and UNaccountable bureaucrats/bureaucracies (more socialism) ELIMINATED, there wouldn't be much work for these POS politicians and they could be part-time.
The constitutional republic would be limited and we'd be very low-taxed productive/responsible citizens in a country that acts as a beacon for individual liberty not collective rights.

Now, legal plunder can be committed in an infinite number of ways. Thus we have an infinite number of plans for organizing it: tariffs, protection, benefits, subsidies, encouragements, progressive taxation, public schools, guaranteed jobs, guaranteed profits, minimum wages, a right to relief, a right to the tools of labor, free credit, and so on, and so on. All these plans as a whole — with their common aim of legal plunder — constitute socialism.
Now, since under this definition socialism is a body of doctrine, what attack can be made against it other than a war of doctrine? If you find this socialistic doctrine to be false, absurd, and evil, then refute it. And the more false, the more absurd, and the more evil it is, the easier it will be to refute. Above all, if you wish to be strong, begin by rooting out every particle of socialism that may have crept into your legislation. This will be no light task.

No problem. I posted on that section 8 housing assistance about the whiners in Austin that got up at 2 - 3 AM to get in line for vouchers. They were disappointed that there was nothing left by the time they got to the front of the line. I’ll bet not one of those obummer voters would get up that early to get in a line at a job fair. Bummer’s stash is empty.
The gerrymander for that district was when we had a dim controlled state house. It was designed to be strong dim forever.
