Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) on Friday strongly suggested that members of Congress are making it difficult for President Obama to raise the debt ceiling because of his race.
"I do not understand what I think is the maligning and maliciousness [toward] this president,” said Jackson Lee, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. “Why is he different? And in my community, that is the question that we raise. In the minority community that is question that is being raised. Why is this president being treated so disrespectfully? Why has the debt limit been raised 60 times? Why did the leader of the Senate continually talk about his job is to bring the president down to make sure he is unelected?”
Earlier in her speech, Jackson Lee said Obama has been targeted unlike any other president.
"I am particularly sensitive to the fact that only this president — only this one, only this one — has received the kind of attacks and disagreement and inability to work, only this one," said Jackson Lee from the House floor.
"Read between the lines," she continued. "What is different about this president that should put him in a position that he should not receive the same kind of respectful treatment of when it is necessary to raise the debt limit in order to pay our bills, something required by both statute and the 14th amendment?"
Jackson Lee concluded by saying that she hoped someone would step up and say that what appears obvious to her is not in fact true.
"I hope someone will say that what it appears to be is not in fact accurate," said Lee. "But historically it seems to be nothing more."

I really like West...and his color makes not one iotta difference...he's a man of principle and unafraid to tell it like it is with conviction. I'd love to see more like him. West makes Obama look like kindergarten material...for that matter many on both sides of the aisle could learn from this man.
No doubt if our guys win in 2012 I am hopeful he will be major part of that team.

That's exactly right. When she spoke this did any republican call her out? I haven't heard anything yet but someone should have then and there...until they start putting a lid on this type of none sense it's just going to continue.
Personally I think she's the point person the democrats are using because they won't risk their political positions to say it themselves. I say this because there's no reason for her to be a representative other than that.

It would certainly take a lot of fixin. I don’t know if there are enough dead voters or vegetables to depend on the fix alone.
The difference? In a survival situation only one of the four would greatly DECREASE your chances of survival, consume your meager resources to no benefit, display an attitude of entitlement and superiority, have zero potential for positive use, make a lot of unnecessary noise at the wrong time and be guaranteed to cause trouble and frayed nerves. Seriously, I look at Biden and I see pompous elitism at it's finest, I look at Queen Sheila, I see a power hungry racial bigot.
While Hillary was still fighting for the nomination, I posted several comments saying that Obama would be nominated by dems who think they would have a permanent race card advantage - a way to impugn anyone who disagreed with him in the future or opposed any of his ideas.

Well said. For the most part our representatives have become little more than bloodsuckers, living off taxpayers and supporting those that support their corruption.
The conservative and Tea Party movement is starting to return our representative government to what was intended to be but there’s a long way to go.
