Recognition by U.S. and other Western nations could unlock billions of dollars in frozen Libyan funds
Rebel leaders won recognition as the legitimate government of Libya from the United States and other world powers on Friday in a major boost to the rebels' faltering campaign to oust Muammer Gadhafi.
Western nations said they also planned to increase the military pressure on Gadhafi's forces to press him to give up power after 41 years at the head of the North African state.
Recognition of the rebels, announced by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at a meeting in Turkey of the international contact group on Libya, is an important diplomatic step which could unlock billions of dollars in frozen Libyan funds.

Absolutely astounding that America is helping it’s own enemies in the War of islam Against American and Western Civilization.

Rebels a legitimate government??? They are really reaching here. Trying to get Ghadaffi’s money into the hands of terrorists??? or maybe the terrorist of their choice: out of terrorist Ghadaffi’s hands into another.
This sounds to me like an incredibly horrible idea. . . which is just about standard for that bunch in DC right now.
This Lybian thing (whatever it is) is the weirdest, the strangest, foreign policy coup de e’tat that I have ever witnessed.

The rebels were running out of everything, as told by their defacto leader. Fuel, food, ammunition, absolutely everything. Now, we can give them money, supposed frozen Libyan funds(i’d like proof) so they can buy everything they need. This administration is so unbelievably corrupt, it is horrifying. Any and everyone that voted for that moron should throw themselves in front of a bus.

Yes nightmares, several times a day, day after day, month after month and now year after year.
I find it mentally exhausting. Every day I wonder how much more I can take and the next day we are forced to take even more.
This nightmare has forced me to think about things I would have never before even dreamed of.
With a very sad and heavy heart, I long for the return of my country.
The fix is tio impeach Obama,drive him to over reach and then impeach him, and that way the truth about who Obnama is will get out to the piblic, past the MSM construct he has built.
Obama will trty to get his “budget” by and end run around Congress using the 14th amendment power, to avoid “default” An entirely artificially caused crisis.

I flipped when I heard this, because I have said all along Qaddafi will not budge. His government is strong and the “rebels” are weak.
This Arab Spring stuff overestimates itself and its capabilities.
However, we are supposed to have checks and balances in our govt to stop usama and the evil witch from aiding and abetting. It’s long past impeachment time, imo.
In the meantime, what about Syria???
