"We should not even be this close on a deadline," Obama said. "This is something we should have accomplished earlier."

Interesting since Obama hasn't put forth a budget in two years.

The man is a sociopath.

Glibness and Superficial Charm

Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.

Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as “their right.”

Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.

Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.

Incapacity for Love

Need for Stimulation
Living on the edge. Verbal outbursts and physical punishments are normal. Promiscuity and gambling are common.

Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others’ feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them.

Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Rage and abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval produce an addictive cycle for abuser and abused, as well as creating hopelessness in the victim. Believe they are all-powerful, all-knowing, entitled to every wish, no sense of personal boundaries, no concern for their impact on others.

Early Behavior Problems/Juvenile Delinquency
Usually has a history of behavioral and academic difficulties, yet “gets by” by conning others. Problems in making and keeping friends; aberrant behaviors such as cruelty to people or animals, stealing, etc.

Irresponsibility/Unreliability
Not concerned about wrecking others’ lives and dreams. Oblivious or indifferent to the devastation they cause. Does not accept blame themselves, but blames others, even for acts they obviously committed.

Promiscuous Sexual Behavior/Infidelity
Promiscuity, child sexual abuse, rape and sexual acting out of all sorts.

Lack of Realistic Life Plan/Parasitic Lifestyle
Tends to move around a lot or makes all encompassing promises for the future, poor work ethic but exploits others effectively.

Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image as needed to avoid prosecution. Changes life story readily.

Other Related Qualities:

Contemptuous of those who seek to understand them
Does not perceive that anything is wrong with them
Authoritarian
Secretive
Paranoid
Only rarely in difficulty with the law, but seeks out situations where their tyrannical behavior will be tolerated, condoned, or admired
Conventional appearance
Goal of enslavement of their victim(s)
Exercises despotic control over every aspect of the victim’s life
Has an emotional need to justify their crimes and therefore needs their victim’s affirmation (respect, gratitude and love)
Ultimate goal is the creation of a willing victim
Incapable of real human attachment to another
Unable to feel remorse or guilt
Extreme narcissism and grandiose
May state readily that their goal is to rule the world

Someone’s panicking. I believe he needs the increase because he has no idea how to cut spending. He has no executive experience, and it shows.

Politicians in general and Democrats in particular do not let facts get in the way of political public statements to support their desired positions.

How shameful.

According to a recent poll, 50% of me wants to hurl. The other 50% is chuckling in a resigned sort of manner. The accuracy of this poll is +/- 4%.

This is Bobo's subconscious speaking out. He 'believes' it, but he knows it's not true. However, Bobo knows he's a one-term President, so it's freed him up to get up there and say whatever the f he and his cadre are 'down with' day-to-day.

This whole kabuki has been thoroughly focus grouped by the K Street crowd. There is no way the RINOs in the House would allow brinksmanship to go this far unless the impending default and the subsequent had been guaranteed to stick to Bobo.

It’s probable that at some point in history, if you polled carefully, you’d find that 80% of Americans wanted slavery. That wouldn’t make it right, and it illustrates the reason a constitutional republic is morally superior to a simple democracy, aka mob rule.

Another point: Even today, you retain far less of each dollar you earn than the sharecroppers of the nineteenth century did. You’d think fact that would strike a chord with the Sheila Jackson-Lees of the world, but it never does.

And not a single reporter in the presser asked him the source poll he was referring to.

Instead, they asked him things like: “How do you FEEL about what the republicans are saying/doing?”

Imho one of the Federal Gov’s responsibilities to the US economy is to insure the circulation of money, guarding against money being dammed up stagnating in pool.

Money is liquid, so when it pools that means it is drying up some place else. As you can see by the numbers, individual taxpayers are not the cause of any pooling; collectively we pay nearly $2 trillion in income and payroll taxes. Corporations only pay $200B and as we read time and time again, they are sitting on trillions.

In effect Corporations are damming money. Its not their money they are damming up, it is yours. Since as you see by the numbers you are the ones putting the most money in the pool.

So you can see by those numbers why money in the middle and upper middle class is drying up.

You can rightfully say lower the income/payroll taxes, I agree. But those taxes would have to lower to the level of the corporate tax to break that Dam. Is that a real life possibility even if every office holder was Conservative? No. Because we have to pay a minimum of $3 trillion debt interest.. We also have overseas military deployed to pay for. Plus a nuclear arsenal to pay for. We can’t event cover those 3 bills with the current tax rate. Reason why we keep raising the debt ceiling.

Corporate loopholes need to be closed, to increase corporate tax to about even with everything else. Income and Payroll tax needs to be lowered to around $750B each.

So across the board you would have all three at:

$750B Income Tax. $750B Payroll Tax. $750B Corporate Tax.

Then the kicker, don’t raise the debt ceiling. The US is too big to fail so no worries that we wont be around. We will just have to take a timeout like Russia and live within our means for a few years. I rather do that now with the current generation (you and I) that can handle that. Then (frankly) leaving it to the softer google/facebook/twitter generation coming behind us.
