President Obama on Friday kept up the pressure on Republicans to agree to revenue increases in a deal to raise the debt ceiling, claiming 80 percent of the public supports Democrats' demand for tax increases.

"The American people are sold," Obama said. "The problem is members of Congress are dug in ideologically."

Throughout the press conference, Obama blasted Republicans for ignoring what he said is the will of the American people by rejecting tax increases that would balance out spending cuts in a debt package.

"This is not an issue of salesmanship to the American people," Obama said. "I hope [Republicans are] not just listening to lobbyists and special interests ... I hope they're listening to the American people as well," Obama said, citing "poll after poll" showing Republican voters, as well as Democrats, believe in taking "a balanced approach" — including both increased revenues and spending cuts in a plan to cut the deficit.

Obama repeated his warning that the country is "running out of time" to avert a financial “Armageddon.”

"We should not even be this close on a deadline," Obama said. "This is something we should have accomplished earlier."

This, coming from someone who hasn't even produced a budget plan. He's done everything in his power to push this up against a "deadline" in order to manufacture a crisis and call it an "armageddon". His goal has always been to scare the American people and force them to submit to his will. Substitute "I" for "we" in the above sentences and you're closer to the truth.

No big surprise. A communist atheist coke abuser 'end justifies the means' person who wants to destroy American capitalism and 'colonialism'. We're on to Obama's blatant socialist/communist agenda. When can the impeachment hearings start? He's a threat to our national security. When is the House going to get serious and Reinstitute the House Committee on Un-American Activities?

Obama acts as if Congress is the only ideologue in this whole venture and he and his administration are high above the ideology plain looking down from lofty Altruistic Mountain... He is at least—objectively so—as big an ideologue as any member of Congress.

Also, if you polled the American public and asked this question:

“Are You willing to have your taxes raised to pay down the federal deficit?”

The answer would not be 80% yes.

Any objective person knows this but if they have to a polling firm could simply ask. In any case, neither the poll takers nor the driveby media are objective and that is why statements like these from THEIR President go unchallenged.

Bush did a fair share of destruction, but, from my understanding, Obama oversaw a deficit increase of 2/3. It went from 1 trillion to 3 trillion in two short years, the highest rate of increase ever.

The thing to know is the media is in the bag for him and whatever one thinks they know about him it must be investigated first, where the media is all out against Bush and we are told way more that is even true about HIS negative attributes.
