Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

Soros is revealing his plan: a unified Europe under the absolute control of an unelected elite. Democracy has failed, and must be replaced with the rule of the elite.

The economic collapse of Europe was engineered, to leave the people no choice but to accept the dictatorship now being offered to them. Riots will begin soon, and will spread throughout Europe. Communist riots, Muslim riots, union riots, all sorts of riots. The purpose will be to drive the people into accepting ANYONE who promises ORDER and BREAD.

this ideal could be approached only gradually, by setting limited objectives, mobilising the political will needed to achieve them and concluding treaties that required states to surrender only as much sovereignty as they could bear politically.

The same strategy that's being used in other parts of the world, including North America. Everyone promoting 'free' trade and other changes in NA does not want to see national borders erased, but a core of elites and globalists do want precisely that. And they are constantly busy working for gradual change and progress toward their goals, just as has been happening in Europe since WWII.

I find the desire for a unified Europe confusing. Napoleon wanted to unify Europe and very nearly succeeded until he over-reached and was defeated outside Moscow.

The fall-out of WWI was the break-up of three tottering empires and the creation of numerous nation-states in their place.

A generation later, Hitler wanted to unify Europe and was very nearly successful until was defeated.

Is it because this is the elites kind of unification that it's considered desirable?

It should be possible to mobilise a pro-European silent majority behind the idea that, when the status quo becomes untenable, we should look for a European solution rather than national ones.

A snippet from Der Spiegel titled "The Need for a Centralisation of Power":
"Despite all mistakes and ineptitudes, it is the elites who are keeping Europe together. Rather than thinking about democratization, then, should we not be looking at ways to improve the capabilities of the elites instead?"

Which brings to mind (Spike Jones):
When der Fuehrer says,
"Ve is the master race!"
Ve say "Heil! Heil!" right in der Fuehrer's face
Not to love der Fuehrer is a great disgrace
So ve "Heil! Heil!" right in der Fuehrer's face!

Soros--not surprisingly--has embraced the Fabian path to tyranny. The gradual destruction of the national spirit, which is what he proposes, clearly has been following the Fabian pattern, imposing tyranny gradually by wolves in sheep's clothing.

But the bottom line is that Soros has not really evolved since he got his activist start as a teenager, when he assisted the Nazis who overthrew Admiral Horthy in Hungary in 1944, in his commitment to Totalitarian purpose.

While the idea of a monetary & customs union in Europe is not per se, a bad one; the EU has from an early point meddled in social values, indulging in the idiocy that one ideology fits all. A number of years back, I drafted An Open Letter To The Conservatives Of Europe. It is a terrible social tragedy, that Europeans have been conditioned to jump from the idea of an economic alliance, into a compulsion driven quest for uniformity.

The European Nations all have complex social heritages, cultures which reflect the multi-generational quests of their respective peoples; proud achievements, a diverse pattern. The answer to peaceful relations among them is not in suppression of what took many centuries to achieve, but in something much simpler: Mutual respect for the fact that they are all different. That is not so hard to grasp, but it does challenge those who have a Compulsion For Uniformity, which has been the neurotic underpinning of every depraved movement from the Jacobins, through the Marxists, Bolsheviks, Fabian Socialists (including America's pseudo-"liberals"). Nazis & pursuers of new World Orders.

To return to George Soros. It should be an axiom of modern politics, that anyone who accepts aid from George Soros is unacceptable to any freedom loving person, anywhere on earth. The man is driven by a sick need to impose his neurotic impulses on the lives of other people. This article reveals that all too clearly.

I hate the terms used here. True Finns and other anti-EU parties and groups are not anti-European. The Fourth Reich/Eurabia is anti-European, anti-Christian and anti-Western importing non-westerners, crushing local traditions and heritages.
