Obviously, Sarah Palin can't possibly run for president in 2012.
She's waited too long. Her ballyhooed 'One Nation' bus tour has virtually vanished. Have you noticed any lines to see the movie about her, "The Undefeated"? And that admiring film got panned by some people you never heard of.
Palin's not built any discernible grassroots organizations in early voting places like Iowa and New Hampshire, as traditional candidates do. And it looks like she's not going to pour a couple of million dollars into the meaningless Ames Straw Poll that will be so important for a week or so next month.
Quitting her elected job barely halfway through the first term turned Palin into a national nobody. She's missed a couple of Republican debates already.
Another tea party favorite Michele Bachmann has surged to the front in the first caucus state's early polls. The national media's gaffe detector is on full power for Bachmann and Palin, both mothers of five. And anyway, a large number of American voters say they wouldn't vote for Palin if she was a former governor with one national campaign under her belt.
But there's a couple of little-noticed problems with any facile dismissal of Palin's possible 2012 candidacy: Media derision only feeds those who don't like her already.
It actually strengthens Palin with a wide swath of overlooked Americans who don't trust mainstream institutions but do identify with the mother of five.
Why do you think Palin keeps shooting back at the media and even starting fights when things get quiet? Any media attention is better than none. Ask Rick Santorum.
Also, American voters don't matter for beans right now. American Republican voters do.....

He’s part of the lying liberal media, so most assuredly that whatever he is saying is the complete opposite of reality.
This election has yet to really begin so it is silly to count anyone out yet.
He’s being SARCASTIC. His point is that Palin is a VERY viable Republican candidate if she gets in, not the opposite. He’s saying that anybody who bets against our Sarah is a FOOL.
Sheesh.
May not be fair, but it is a fact.
I would put my money on she’s not going to run;
The Fox News people, Bill OReilly and others dont think so.
Why? Because he and the others get her on their shows since she is a Fox New Contributor under contract. They know what she is available to talk about, what she can and cannot talk about, what issues she has little depth or greater depth about commenting. I would guess she has some pretty big holes in that reportroire, one of which was mentioned as foreign policy.
Frankly speaking if Perry gets in we dont need a Palin.
Perry has a few policy negatives, but is a true blue conservative even though Palin has no policy negatives.
“You can forget about Sarah Palin as a Republican candidate, if you want to look silly by fall”
People, RTFA.
Please read the whole column: It’s not what you think. It’s as pro-Palin as you’re likely to see in a major paper.
Is he right?
No
And, unlike Zero, she won’t need a billion dollars to win the election.
BINGO!!
I believe I'll wait and see. Only one thing is certain - any writer for the LA Times reporting on Sarah Palin is bound to have his or her head up his or her digestive tract.
It IS early. The field will chew each other up and a lot can and WILL happen this summer.
Palin is still young and she could wait to take a Secretary appointment if a conservative Pubbie gets in. Forget Romney or Perry... they would only sabotage her future. (Unfortunately the Bildabergers tapped Perry.)
I am a big Palin fan but I may throw my support behind Ron Paul this time.
Ron Paul would chew Obama or ANY Dimocrat up in a debate. He also had a LOT of Dim support in 2008. He is a shoe in for the presidency but TPTB in the Republican Party would sabotage him in favor of Obama if he gets the nomination. (Just like they’ve already done to Palin) The Tea Party and other conservatives will need to really really get behind Ron Paul if he or Bauchman or Palin get the nomination.
Paul will have to thread the needle to get past FOXNEWS and not offend Republican NONleadership. FOX has screwed Paul every chance they’ve had. They go out of their way to sabotage him.
Back on subject.... Palin would be a HUGE asset in a Paul presidency.
There is the Newsweek article and now this seeming to speculate it will be a go. What gives?
Kinda scared, aren’t you LAT?
Perhaps you know that Sarah could totally eviscerate your idiot president in a sentence or two.
Obama is a speechless d*ck without his prompter.
And besides, he can’t hunt.
This dude is seriously whistling past the graveyard.
nah, sounds pretty LEFT to me!
You can Freepmail me the Kewpie doll ;)
... or at least taking her a lot more seriously.
