Failed California GOP Senate candidate Carly Fiorina was named on Tuesday as the vice chair of the Republicans' effort to retake the Senate in 2012.
...
"I'm pleased to welcome my friend Carly Fiorina to the NRSC team, where her many business and civic achievements will make her an invaluable leader and fundraiser during this critical election cycle," said the committee chair, Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, in a statement. "I look forward to working with Carly to elect strong Republican Senators who will finally put a stop to President Obamas failed tax-and-spend agenda, and instead promote the economic growth and job creation Americans so badly need."
...
The announcement Tuesday is her first public move since that loss. At the NRSC, Fiorina will focus on economic issues and fundraising.
"The Senate sets the legislative agenda for the nation. I am proud to work alongside Chairman Cornyn, Vice Chairman [Orrin] Hatch and all Republican Senators to restore a Republican majority in 2012," Fiorina said in a statement. "Republicans in the Senate will provide job creators the opportunities and environment they need to grow our economy, decentralize power out of Washington, and restore fiscal accountability."

What ? Was Ah-nold unavailable ?
Republican takeover of the Senate is doomed. Carly is a frigging multi-time loser.
What in the hell are they thinking about? It’s like the GOP is on-purpose trying to destroy themselves. And now this debt limit BS from McConnell and Kyl. Give me a break!
You forgot dumping on Larry Elder, having to be muscled into throwing a few dollars toward Christine O'Donnell...yeah, Cornyn's got to go.
Recycled excrement. Oh joy.
“Its like the GOP is on-purpose trying to destroy themselves. “
It’s a delicate thing to attempt, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the current crop of GOP’ers LIKE being the minority.
No responsibility.
Wrong, GOP, wrong, this is why the ESTABLISHMENT RINO REPUBS DO NOT GET IT.
Carly is an employee of big-business let’s make money the easy when then retire.
Her wonderful super duper high level strategic high tech plan for HP was merge with Compaq then she retires.
What ever happed to a CEO being CEO for 20 years, actually being around when their plans come to fruition, have MOST of their NET WORTH MARRIED to the company they run ?
Is it any wonder that American publicly-held companies have quarter-to-quarter, merge until there is no competition, get in bed with the government strategies ?
The CEO and management do not have to think or risk anything significant in those cases.
This type of CEO HAS NO CLUE about small business. THEY SEE THEM ONLY AS CUSTOMERS OF BIG BUSINESS. They really hope that small business does well, but since they can’t lobby like big business, a warm smile is all they get from big-business elites who can put their Senator on hold while they plan their golf weekend.
The GOP wants only CONTRIBUTIONS and VOTES from small business.
The “new class” of Congress needs to be swept into office in larger and larger numbers each election, until we can start abolishing whole departments.
Federal Education spending in billions:
1980: $33.2
1988: $33.4
1989: $38
1992: $46.3
1993: $51.3
2000: $60
2001: $63.7
2008: $101.8
2009: $90.8
2010: $140
2011: $129.8
This should be zero - LET EACH STATE SPEND WHATEVER IT WANTS ON EDUCATION, PUT ZERO FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS ON THEM.
I JUST MADE A PLAN TO SAVE $129.8 BILLION.
Big business, big government, business as usual Republicans ARE ALSO DRIVING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT INTO BANKRUPTCY.
WHO HAS PERSONAL FIDUCIARY ACCOUNTABILTY AND RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FINANCIAL HEALTH OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ?
NO ONE ?
All we an do is elect new Congressmen - I think, I hope, I pray that maaaayyyybeee people are starting to wake up on the importance of voting out professional politicians - and maybe taking a turn to run themselves for a term or two, slash government, then get out while still not corrupt and let the next person get elected.
IMHO...
I agree. I often wonder how many of the thousands of people that come on this website regularly, and who are extremely opinionated (not a bad thing), actually do anything to help the party? How many actually walk a precinct or help out at a phone bank? How many put a sign in their yard, or a bumper sticker on their car? How many actually write a check to a candidate or to their state or county party? Just wondering.

OMG, and lets think about who supported Carly.
gag
Carly Fiorina is featured in the world’s thinnest book. It is called “Great Moderates in American Political History.”
You are so right. I was at Lucent when she pulled all that crap with disastrous results. Everything this woman touches turns to sh*t.
A lot of freepers were excited when she was running against Boxer, but Fiorina didn’t stand a chance. She was a very unattractive candidate and I’m not talking about her looks. She just carries a lot of baggage and will always be associated with destroying lots of jobs.
No wonder the GOP is called the stupid party. Will they ever learn?
The party has to offer a reason for people to vote for them.
Fail
Good, she’s proven her worth at HP!
GOP...catching the falling knife...
LOL. And she’s a libertarian at best, certainly not conservative.
hahhahahahahaha oh wait you are serious?!
RINOs stick together don’t they.
She is. Don’t let the (R) fool ya.
McCain, Fiorina, Whitman, she who shall not be named, all tied at the hip.
Sad but true...
As for Cornyn, any ideas where he might have come up with the name Fiorina? Why sure, it’s the gift that keeps on giving from Arizona. (Five point five more guaranteed years of that mo fo)
