What do you think ? Governor Palin ? Is she running ? (also vote in the poll inside this posting)

First, I have absolutely no inside track (despite what some may think) but I am guessing Governor Sarah Palin is running for President in 2012. Basis for my guess ? First, she has never said no. In fact, she told me in an interview about 8 weeks ago, and this remark has been repeated by other journalists to her and by her, she has the “fire in her belly” interest in running. This is not a yes, and it is not a no but leans more in the yes direction. In that interview I tried to get a more definitive answer out of her as to whether she is running or not but only got admission of “fire in the belly.” Second, we have not heard much from her since her bus tour which makes me suspicious that she is gearing up (but just a guess…maybe she is doing something else? writing another book? spending time with her family? ) Third, as the days go on, some of the declared Republican candidates are having a few troubles – whether it be a gaffe or troubles raising money. This must be tempting to a politician looking at the race and who has not said no. Fourth, I read in the Des Moines Register that there are Palin volunteers – not from a Palin organization – all over the ground in Iowa. Fifth, there seems to be a media strategy – two weeks ago a documentary about her time as Governor opened in Iowa and then yesterday the cover story in Newsweek Magazine hit the newsstands. Sixth, she has already gone through the media digging into her life and past which discourages many politicians. Seventh, are there any signs she is not running other than that she is not physically in Iowa and has not declared a candidacy?

Daniels and Christie would surprise very few whatever decision they made.
But with Sarah Palin,when she decides jaws will drop for many regardless of what it is.
Women developed the ability to discombobulate in order to make up for their lack of physical power.

It has become too hard to take her seriously.

She is waiting....learning....guarding the "cubs"....staying mostly quiet with an occasional "roar".....reconning the enemies from within and without.....studying weaknesses....practicing....endlessly practicing....reading...recognizing strengths....finding vulnerabilities....

Patience.....patience....

Wait for it!

And keep the faith....

When "it" occurs....I cannot wait to see the faces of the likes of the "nose in the air, simpering kraut-hamer, the "oh so superior" traitor rove, the "know it all", meglomaniac o'reilly, and the moon faced, lisping little dicky morris!!! It will have been worth the wait!

But as General Patton said, "If everyone is thinking alike, someone isn't thinking." And if ever there were a group of worthless kloned non-thinking deadheads, it's this group.

I hope she runs. She will be doing it for the country and not her own personal ego like most candidates. She cannot be bought off or compromised, like the rest of the Washington DC politicians.

I think she’s waiting for that statute of limitations I read about for the ethics lawsuits stemming from her time as governor. I believe it ends in a few weeks.

Perry is also not manipulating his supporters or having a history of being unstable or aloof.

In Palin’s case, it seems more like her media activities are centered on keeping the media focused on her need for attention.

In the long run, this will anger even more people outside of her small and rather sycophantic following.

and you seem to still think polls done by partisans are the “real world”

the facts of the real world blow your arguments out of the water. Crowd attendence to speechs, clicks, book sales, yes comments, TV ratings, media convoys chassing a bus, are all facts of her massive support. no other candidate comes close.

because the non supporters try to keep telling her supoorters she isn’t running.

I supported her with a vengeance -- for a long time, right up until recently -- I built and posted many threads for and about her.

But the thrill is gone.

If she is the nominee, I will support her with a vengeance again.

You don’t have a candidate in the race do you? If not, then your annoyance at Palin for not formally being in the race seems a little odd.

Well, I’m done with Sarah. I consider this election to be absolute warfare believing it requires an all out offensive political attack by air, land and sea, so to speak, and a huge sacrafice of time, money and energy from us and all the serious candidates. There is no room anywhere in my being for dilly dallying pseudo candidates seen posing for airy photos and flirting incessantly with his/her base and passing out virtually nothing but rhetoric. It’s past outrageous when the battle has begun to amass much needed campaign cash, endorsements and a competent team to clear brush. Sarah has done none of that hard stuff, nor dropped her FOX contract which will be the bell ringer. Unconventional, my foot. AWOL is more like it.

I take it that Rick Perry is able to look like a serious explorer and is more openly making a case. I get that it takes some time to build a warship, but even Rick has a short leash on time. You know, it waits on no one.

I don’t think she is running now. However, she will run if political and national developments are not to her liking. In the meantime whatever time interval is available for decision she is wisely scoping the landscape like any experienced hunter.
