First, I have absolutely no inside track (despite what some may think) but I am guessing Governor Sarah Palin is running for President in 2012. Basis for my guess ? First, she has never said no. In fact, she told me in an interview about 8 weeks ago, and this remark has been repeated by other journalists to her and by her, she has the “fire in her belly” interest in running. This is not a yes, and it is not a no but leans more in the yes direction. In that interview I tried to get a more definitive answer out of her as to whether she is running or not but only got admission of “fire in the belly.” Second, we have not heard much from her since her bus tour which makes me suspicious that she is gearing up (but just a guess…maybe she is doing something else? writing another book? spending time with her family? ) Third, as the days go on, some of the declared Republican candidates are having a few troubles – whether it be a gaffe or troubles raising money. This must be tempting to a politician looking at the race and who has not said no. Fourth, I read in the Des Moines Register that there are Palin volunteers – not from a Palin organization – all over the ground in Iowa. Fifth, there seems to be a media strategy – two weeks ago a documentary about her time as Governor opened in Iowa and then yesterday the cover story in Newsweek Magazine hit the newsstands. Sixth, she has already gone through the media digging into her life and past which discourages many politicians. Seventh, are there any signs she is not running other than that she is not physically in Iowa and has not declared a candidacy?
What do you think? Is she running? or not? (*take the poll)
That still doesn’t square with why it’s “too late” for Palin because she didn’t declare last month, or on some other arbitrarily deadline.
And, to repeat myself, I don’t think it’s too late for either of them, and I fully expect to see both of them officially in the race by Labor Day (I actually have my bets placed on August 15 for Palin).
Bachmann, Cain and Perry will split the ABP vote. Palin stacks up well against Perry. her resume destorys bachmann and Cain’s .
Palin is more Populist than she is conservative. In the past, she has taken some liberal/libertarian positions, and she set spending records in her short term as Governor.
Perry is without a doubt, the strongest candidate against Obama.
Why would she say anything if she has yet to make her mind up? Her own mother has stated that she has no idea if her daughter will run, or not.

Because as Reagan in a skirt, Governor Palin has a huge reservoir of support among conservatives, and conservatives see the evidence that Palin is running and that she is simply doing it in her typically fresh, unique style, this article supports that view.
I disagree. It's far more likely that Romney gets squeezed out and the race comes down to a Palin vs. Perry contest.
Perry is without a doubt, the strongest candidate against Obama.
I think there's a lot of doubt on that point, actually. Perry hasn't had any serious vetting yet, so we'll need to see how he stands after the jackals have their chance at him. Until then, he remains a question mark.
In any event, anyone in the potential GOP field could beat Obama, except for Romney, so I don't really get worked up over the "strongest against Obama" claims in the first place.

I agree. Perry would be a formidable candidate as a three term governor of one of the most populous states in the union. Add in the job creation that Texas has achieved and he would have a resounding message.
My problem with Perry though is his stances on illegal immigration. I cannot support amnesty lite.

When Perry started to “signal” he might get in it was last month. Since then he’s traveled around the country, given speeches, talked with supporters, has events and more speeches scheduled, has his people talking to the people setting up early primary events in Iowa, NH, S.C......etc, etc, etc.
He’s not just sending out tweets on Facebook.
