Former Sen. John W. Warner, R-Va., briefly stepped back into politics Friday, joining U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu to urge the preservation of light bulb standards that were included in the 2007 energy bill. I wonder how much money Warner got paid by the CFL industry?

I wrote my rep today. She’s a commie, but I felt it was worth a shot. I told her I’ll track her vote, and make sure everyone is aware of how she voted come Jan 1, 2012.

The Republicans sponsoring “better use of lightbulbs” don’t get it.
The Congress’ role with regard to lightbulbs is - nothing.

It would strip from the law, signed by then-President George W. Bush, standards that traditional incandescent bulbs be 30 percent more efficient starting next year.

I never had any use for that statist SOB, Warner. This only reinforces my opinion. The feds operate on the principle of if it moves tax it, if it keeps moving regulate it, and if it keels over (because of the taxes and regulations, not that the statists would ever admit it) then subsidize it. They regulate what features my car has, what fuel I put into it, how I heat or light my house, the fact and degree of medical insurance that I must have, how I must purchase the guns that they allow me to have, etc., etc., etc. Heck, they even regulate how we take a crap (low-flow toilets)!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH - GET THE HELL OFF OF OUR BACKS, OR THERE'S GOING TO BE A REVOLUTION THE LIKES OF WHICH THE WORLD HAS NEVER SEEN!!!!
