Former Sen. John W. Warner, R-Va., briefly stepped back into politics Friday, joining U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu to urge the preservation of light bulb standards that were included in the 2007 energy bill.
The U.S. House could vote as early as Monday on the BULB Act (Better Use of Light Bulbs) introduced by Rep. Joe Barton, a Texas Republican. It would strip from the law, signed by then-President George W. Bush, standards that traditional incandescent bulbs be 30 percent more efficient starting next year.
Barton says consumers, not the government, should determine what type of light bulbs to purchase.

DIMwit Warner should just take a hike!!!
“Senator” Warner says so? OOOOOoooo like wow.
My trash man says the law sucks.
So the score is 1-1.
Probably 90% of “greenie motivation” is either
1) Feel good about yourself for caring for the erf.
2) Getting in the pants on someone who wants to feel good about herself for caring about the erf.
The remaining 10% are the communists using the “green” movement as a front.
Your general argument may be right. But I’m thinking it’s more like 70%/30%. I think there are that many communists in this country.
John Warner was a waste of a Senate seat. What a goof!
Honey, he is a waste of oxygen.
Heavily invested in the curly-cue light bulbs, John?
According to another thread it said the bill is being introduced by Texas Republican Joe Barton.
Warner is an idiot, nuff said. =.=
I don’t know much about Barton. Is he a Constitutionalist or an establishment guy?
Bush signed it into law. Tells me far too may Pubbies got their payoffs from G.E. too.
Agreed.
What does all that have to do with light bulbs?

Most Commies aren’t even aware of their socialist proclivities.
Higher level Reds call them “Useful Idiots”.
Posted that to the wrong thread. You caught me!
You are right. The split might be closer to 60/40.
I don’t know. Just noted that a bill was being introduced by him. My question is how are they going to get this bill past the Obummer veto?

Light bulb standards...the measure of modern American Statesmanship.
I want congress to stay out of my pocket, my bedroom and my light socket !
