I think she can win too..but it will be bloody.

So is Newsweek touting her with a favorable cover evidence that they think she is a good foil for Obama to clobber?

That is what many here say about anyone the media touts however briefly?

It’s not like there is not some argument for that...they sure pushed McCain.

But I think it has to be determined ...will the media push a candidate they think Orbama can beat like Palin or Bachman or do they push a GOP nominee they find easier to swallow ..like McCain or maybe Giuliani

I am happy she got a decent cover....a bit surprised.

But I am tired of all the teasing...getting the nomination is a grind...popular or not.

Has anyone come in late?

Reagan was in campaign mode more or less entirely from 76-80...what order did he announce then?

There were a slew of GOP candidates that year...Carter looked like such easy pickings

Bloody, very bloodly would be the best way to win.

We're all looking for a real God-damn knock-down drag-'em-out fight. With LOTS of bodies on the floor when it's over

Reagan was running hard, since 1976. But he did not announce officially until the week before Thanksgiving of 1979. It is still many months until November. And all the other candidates and the media said: He is too old. He is not going to run. He is just a spokesperson.

This is deja vu.

No, but a whole lot of folks have jumped in early.

I think Sarah will jump in sometime after July 26th, and before Labor Day. Gotta let the demolition derby play out before the Main Event.

I get the impression that you’re an old-timer, like me.

Remember 1968?

Lyndon Johnson, Gene McCarthy, Hubert Humphrey.

And who was it who jumped in VERY late in the primaries, and won in California, and then....?

If Kennedy hadn’t been assassinated, he’d have won the nomination and most likely would have beat Nixon, as well.

43 years later, it may not be possible to “enter late” and win.

But then again, it just might — IF you’re the right person with the right themes and charisma.

Just sayin’...
