(CNSNews.com) – Black Americans are the most religious in the United States, according to a newly released Gallup Poll.

In a daily tracking survey released July 1, Gallup found that 53 percent of black Americans were identified as being “very religious,” with 33 percent saying they were “moderately religious.”

That stands in contrast to the 39 percent of white Americans who said they were “very religious” and the 26 percent who said they were “moderately religious.”

Only 13 percent of blacks said they were “nonreligious,” versus 34 percent of whites.

I’m a white male attendee of the Roman Catholic Church and I’m not sure if I would list myself as very or moderately religious. The blacks at my Parrish are all recent immigrants from Africa. They are hard core pro life and pro family.

I will say this:

If my local Church priest/ deacon mentions economic justice or wage equality in a Homily again, I WILL interrupt Mass right there a blast the speaker in front of the congregation.

I’ve had enough of the liberation theology seeping into Homilies. I will not leave the Church. They will have to kick me out.

"Group" is the keyword in this article. I'm not sure that blacks are the "most religious" group, however, I might concede that a higher percentage of blacks attend church.

Democrats are obsessive "joiners" and like other species that feel the need for safety-in-numbers, "groupthink" is very prevalent with blacks.

On the other hand - and tax exemptions be damned - most of the civil rights marches and demonstrations were planned in black churches.

The films I saw of Reverend Wright's church shows the pews to the packed, but I heard very little regarding God, religion and love of fellow man coming out of Wright's mouth.

So, are they churches, or venues for "community organizing"?

My preacher will not even touch political subjects in church for fear of losing their tax exemption...but many blacks churches are nothing more than political meetings.

My Dad's old adage, "You are only enslaved to the extent of charity you receive" is also holding back churches. I would rather the government keep their tax exemption and free up white churches to be meeting places for Americans, and to unleash the 1st Amendment in Churches too, regardless of the taxes.

Most religious? Well only what is inside an INDIVIDUALS heart and mind can answer that question, otherwise all of the fancy clothes, big billowing hats, and flashy bling-bling shows, the group-whining about long-past oppression, and the plans to "get whitey" does not a "religious experience" make.

Are we including the Hussein cult as a religion?

True story that should give us hope (though I realize anecdotal evidence is not sufficient): I have a friend who is....black, female, from Massachusetts, single, and a public school teacher, union member. She fits every demographic that says she should be a Hussein supporter.

SHE CANNOT STAND HIM! She is a strong Christian woman who does not drink the Obama Kool-Aid. There is hope.

I know too many young, female black "preachers" who are unwed mothers, with multiple offspring by different "baby daddies." They preach in their own little non-denominational churches and consider themselves good Christian women.

Actually, I only know of 2 such women, but that is 2 too many.

This says the ID’d themselves as religious. They like to say that about themselves. My guess is that if you followed them around for a week, they would prove to be otherwise.

Democrats are not Christian PERIOD. They can’t be and believe in the abortion death cult. Therefore, any religious affiliation of Holders People is suspect, more along the lines of socialism/communism/obama worship than worship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The key to this may be the word “religious”. As an evangelical Christian, I do not consider myself religious. Religion is man reaching out to God, which is useless.

It just depends upon what the meaning of “religious” is.

You know a tree by its fruit.

I posted a link on the Nicolaitans earlier, but this is the link I was really looking for:

Nicolaitan: Are You One?

Excerpts:

Nicolaitans were not followers of a man but of a doctrine. The were the people “who were charged with holding the error of Balaam, casting a stumbling block before the church of God by upholding the liberty of eating things sacrificed to idols as well as committing fornication.” They were snared by their own appetite for benefits at the expense of their neighbor. The people are devoured in the civic pot of their own flesh.5

The things sacrificed to idols were the welfare programs provided by and administered to through the civic altars of those various governments. One could become eligible for those benefits by an application for membership. This application often included an agreement to serve and contribute regularly to those incorporated altars of the state. There usually was an oath required, under the penalty of the courts, attached to those systems.

...

The error that we have a right to take from our neighbor through legal systems of social welfare is not unique to the Nico-Laity or the Ba-Laam but stems back to the original error of mankind.

“Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.” Jude 1:11

Ever notice how this so-called “black” man (Wright, not Barry), a disciple of Black Liberation Theology, is more white looking than Obama, who is HALF WHITE by his own admission?

Going to church and “religion” clearly means something different to blacks, because it has no manifestation in black culture that we can recognize as Christian and especially Protestant Christian, which is the largest group of religious blacks, it even applies to the ones that are Catholic, that video of the Chicago Police Chief attacking Sarah Palin in church was called in by a Priest to his Catholic Church, even Islam to blacks, has always meant racial chauvinism.

Something weird is going on with blacks and religion, it just doesn’t seem to reach them in general, it always seems to be a militant political association.
