Washington (CNSNews.com) White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on Tuesday deflected questions about a botched ATF sting operation that allowed guns to walk to Mexico, but he did tell reporters, You could assume that the president takes this very seriously.
As part of Operation Fast and Furious, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives knowingly allowed some 2,000 guns purchased in the U.S. to flow to Mexican criminals to see where they would end up. But ATF lost track of many of the weapons. Two of the straw-purchased guns were later found in Arizona, at the scene of a U.S. Border Patrol agents murder in December.
On Tuesday, Carney declined to answer whether ATF Acting Director Kenneth Melson would testify about Operation Fast and Furious to Congress. A congressional oversight report indicated that people at the highest levels of the Justice Department knew about it.

Im sure he is seriously worried behind closed doors that this may be his Watergate.
Intent to subvert the constitution
LEO murders
International law violations
You betcha! ;-)
Fox News interview with senior agent Vince Cefalu. He has been terminated and says about 30 other agents have been terminated due to their opposition to operation Fast and Furious. Says DoJ was intimately involved.
0bama Arms Mexican Drug Cartels - Dept. of Justice Involved In Coverup!
?
Wasn't it reported that Melson had agreed to testify??? Why should he have to agree, anyway. The Congress should have the power to investigate the executive branch when abuses appear to have occurred...what's going on?
"Damn right I take this serial! If people figure out what we tried to pull and screw them out of their Constitutional rights, I might not get reelected! Me, the Mess-iah!"
I saw the other day where they wanted those responsible extradited to stand trial in Mexico. Can we extradite The Won? Probably not a good idea, even if we could. Then every tin pot dictator would be demanding extradition for President Palin or President Perry.
Just let Obama/Holder drag this out until the Republicans control the Senate.
They’ll wish they got this behind them now.
Gunwalker = Watergate X Irancontra.
In this context, "agree to testify" probably means he agrees not to take the fifth, or at least not to take it continuously from the first question.
I’m sure they do. Do you know how hard it is to destroy ALL of the physical and electronic copies of the incriminating documents?
What was wrong with Iran-Contra? That was an act of genius!
The Community Organizer was definitely behind this scheme. Obama wanted to cripple the gun manufacturers and the distributors, then he was going to go after private ownership.
We are in the cover up stage of Obama's WATERGATE. The pawns are lying to protect the chief scumbag behind all of this. This will never see the front page like Watergate unless people like us push it and push it hard.
Most of the comments on FREEREPUBLIC indicate citizens are brain dead, they can no longer even reason. Of course Obama himself pushed this idiotic scheme. IT's now time to fry him for it.
It’s on his mind, keenly, as he lines up a 30 foot putt.

From your lips to God's ears.
Hell be in a supermax prison if it unfolds properly.
Perhaps we should send him an e-card to help soothe his troubled brow.
he should be taking this seriously .. it could mean an all expense paid trip to Mexico - ONE WAY.
Some accommodations that he may not be accustomed to and I see no reasons to bring his golf clubs ... unless it is to keep the other inmates off his back. Course he may like that.
Mrs. Jennings and I both agree wholeheartedly with you posting!
Thanks.
Misleading headline. He didn't actually say that, but he did tell reporters, “You could assume that the president takes this very seriously.”
