Morning all, didn't see a thread for today so I created one.
It probably was unethical, but it was incumbent upon the prosecution to object to those statements and, if they anticipated them, to bring a motion in limine before trial. I didn’t watch the opening statements, but it doesn’t appear to me that they did so, and that’s unfortunate. Baez at least can say that he was fulfilling his duty to be a zealous advocate even if he was making an improper jury argument.
I’m not a big fan of how the judge conducted this trial, either, or how he handled that contempt hearing last week.
"The consensus is she got by with Murder."
A lot of us agree.
"The problem that they saw was that the Prosecution tried to hard."
Trying too hard is not a factor, over reaction is.
"The evidence was simple and logical."
Hanging their hat on the tape was dumb.
"should have stuck with it rather than worrying about the Defense trying to poke holes in it."
Again, over reaction.
No wonder none of them are talking. We might find out just exactly what they did that wasn’t suppose to be done like discuss the trial before deliberations.
Yeah she has mental problems, she lied and partied when her daughter was missing. The woman is a psychopath, which lends more to murder.
As the prosecution states, no one takes an accident and makes it look like murder.
Thanks for your post. I just was discussing with wife that the way this country is going, republicans and democrats will both have to be selected to the jury 50/50. We basically are at war.
Actually out justice system is as broken as everything else in this country.
Since when to people hire jury consultants is order to pick jurors favorable to their side? It wasn’t supposed to be like that.
The more dumbed down people become the less faith we can put in the system. People no longer have reasoning power. These jurors never asked for any info and didn’t take notes.
Sometimes justice means we have to look at the big picture. Not all cases have DNA to absolutely prove guilt. Casey had her child that day and her child ended up in a swamp in a plastic bag with duct tape wrapped 3 times around her nose and mouth. Her coffin was a bag Casey bought at Target with someone elses money.
Since Caylee “drowned”, I wonder if Casey put the duct tape over her mouth before or after shoving her in the pool?Enquiring minds want to know.
There was far less evidence to convict Scott Peterson yet he was convicted of something. Rightfully so.
And I would surmise thats what you say about most anyone who disagrees with you.
It isnt necessarily so that agreement with the jury is agreement that Casey is innocent. Its obvious that given there were 12 individuals who very quickly came to unanimous agreement the prosecution did not prove beyond reasonable doubt that she was guilty.
Having owned a chemical analysis lab I know that chloroform sensors will sense chloroform in the presence of some laundry detergents. The prosecution didnt even prove that the Anthonys ever had any chloroform in their house or owned any chloroform. Still the prosecution wanted the jury to assume that as a cause of death. Presume? Beyond a reasonable doubt?
All twelve of the jurors without much debate at all unanimously agreed that the prosecution did NOT prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey was guilty. If they cant even convince one of those twelve, which would have at least caused longer debate or a hung jury, its obvious to any person with a higher IQ that the prosecution failed.
The duct tape was indeed still wrapped around the skull.
The jawbone was still intact to the skull because of the duct tape (3 pieces). In fact, Caylee’s hair was still in place as it had fallen off her deteriorated scalp and was draped over the tape on the skull.
Do your own research on this. You are incorrect.
I am not a member of any “ILK”. What’s with the name calling?
A nanny named Zanny(short for Xanex).
The fingerprints decomposed, just as the rest of her little body. We had testimony affirming that.
Do you mean Xanax (alprazolam) ?
After months in a swamp during a hurricane?
Alternate juror - accident (no evidence), George’s fault
Casey’s a sociopath...live one day with one and you’ll understand the family dynamics. Casey would have never raised Caley..and she hadn’t been . Her parents were the primary caregivers...and they were and are well acquainted with Casey’s behavior for many years.’’Therefore they are as normal as a family under the duress that Casey put them thru for years.
I worked with a woman who’s son was just like Casey...they took him everywhere one could imagine for treatment to no avail..and that is typical for sociopaths....tough if not impossible to treat. He ended up putting a bullit in the head of a cab driver for no apparent reason whatsoever. Taken down by the police a few hours later while on the phone with his mother..who heard it all.
I talked at length with this mom...what she shared their life was with their son would curl your toes.
This is not the last we’ll see of Casey in trouble....you can pretty much guarantee it.
Try to be civil.
Okay...I’ll check my facts. I distinctly remember it being said that the duct tape was wrapped as if it had been around a skull, but was not on the skull. But I apologyze if I’m wrong. Still, I have explained why the duct tape was wrapped around the child’s skull as I believed it happened.
ILK....is name calling?
It means “like minded”.
you just want to be mean.
HIGH FIVING each other inside the bar...
Casey Anthony defense team celebrates at local bar
As the world reals from the shocking verdict of innocence, the defense team is seen ‘partying’ at local bar
Raising champagne glasses, toasting each other with smiles on their faces, the Casey Anthony defense team celebrated their victory in finding their defendant not guilty in the murder and aggravated child abuse of her daughter Caylee Anthony.
Outside many spectators who followed the case and came from many different areas, were outraged and all had the same question on their minds what about Caylee?
Despite Jose Baez humbly proclaiming in an earlier press conference that he had mixed feelings on what had just happened and no one is a winner in this case Caylee is still dead, it would seem that Beaz and his team have reconsidered that statement and feel that they are the winners in this tragic case.
Jane Velez-Mitchell of HLN tracked the dream team to a local bar not far from the courthouse and although there were guards posted outside to prevent the media from entering, Mitchell could see them inside smiling and toasting their victory.
A woman was interviewed outside of the bar. She was a nurse from Pinellas County the county that the jury was chosen from she was visibly upset declaring that a travesty in the justice system had just occurred.
A member of the public actually got a shot on their camera of the group inside of the bar. The woman who took the picture said that she had gone around the corner of the bar to use the ATM, unaware that the team was inside. She said she heard a cheer and looked through the window to see the the attorneys hugging each other and a celebration going on.
The consensus of the waiting crowd outside the bar unanimously declared that justice was not done today.

I would definately say that the system is broken, that much I know.
It’s called the wookie defense.
“The jurors heard that and decided a case on a LIE from a sleazy unethical piece of crap according to the alternate juror. Is that what our justice system has come to? REALLY?!”
Our system has convicted innocent people, and let plenty of guilty people go, over decades and decades. It has always been difficult to decide justice, and unless and until we have perfect means of establishing truth, it’s always going to be a flawed process. We haven’t even been able to agree, as a nation, about how to deal with suspected terrorists.
