HIGH FIVING each other inside the bar...

Casey Anthony defense team celebrates at local bar

As the world reals from the shocking verdict of innocence, the defense team is seen ‘partying’ at local bar

Raising champagne glasses, toasting each other with smiles on their faces, the Casey Anthony defense team celebrated their victory in finding their defendant not guilty in the murder and aggravated child abuse of her daughter Caylee Anthony.

Outside many spectators who followed the case and came from many different areas, were outraged and all had the same question on their minds – what about Caylee?

Despite Jose Baez humbly proclaiming in an earlier press conference that he had mixed feelings on what had just happened and no one is a winner in this case – “Caylee is still dead,” it would seem that Beaz and his team have reconsidered that statement and feel that they are the winners in this tragic case.

Jane Velez-Mitchell of HLN  tracked the “dream team” to a local bar not far from the courthouse and although there were guards posted outside to prevent the media from entering, Mitchell could see them inside smiling and toasting their victory.

A woman was interviewed outside of the bar. She was a nurse from Pinellas County – the county that the jury was chosen from – she was visibly upset declaring that a travesty in the justice system had just occurred.

A member of the public actually got a shot on their camera of the group inside of the bar. The woman who took the picture said that she had gone around the corner of the bar to use the ATM, unaware that the team was inside. She said she heard a cheer and looked through the window to see the the attorneys hugging each other and a celebration going on.

The consensus of the waiting crowd outside the bar unanimously declared that justice was not done today.

Geraldo said something tonight that I did not know.

He said that Casey had been offered a plea deal over and over and she refused. He said she was offered a plea for negligent manslaughter. Now as to how Geraldo knows this I do not know.

So Casey refused to take a plea....well hindsight and all, but I guess it was a good idea. Evidently the prosecution was leaning towards Caylee’s death was some kind of accident.

I guess that’s why the prosecution “went after” the death penalty for this case although they did it softly. They had to put something higher on the charge since Casey turned down what I think really happened...negligent manslaughter.

I’m not all that sure why the jury didn’t charge her with manslaughter but they didn’t. I’ll do some reading over the next couple of days but for now I really think that the jurors were just overwhelmed, there was no cause of death detailed, so much that seemed so nebulous....and that big death penalty thing cast a pall over the thing. The defense, as I’ve stated plenty, did a terrific job, and it IS their job.

I’ll never be convinced that anybody else killed Caylee but her own mother. For sure I’ll never buy that the child’s grandfather took an accidentally drowned child and threw it in the woods, come on.
