It’s embarrassing to be roped in again to another trial of the day. I swore off after O.J., but here I am following quite closely.
Two of the jurors picked could hang the jury. One is reluctant to “judge anyone else”, and the other said he couldn’t impose a death penalty. Both jurors were coaxed into serving anyway and brought around to agreement and “accepted”, gleefully I’m sure, by the defense. You can imagine the possibilities with them, or with reluctant others who were not so vocal but are also serving.

I’m just relaying what I heard a reporter say Casey’s explanation was. I don’t know when she got the tattoo. Maybe ‘in memory of’ was a poor choice of words by the reporter - maybe she meant to say that Casey got the tattoo when her daughter was missing as some kind of disply of love for her beautiful life, whatever.
I don’t think anyone’s buying it, but then again, Casey says a lot of stuff that no one buys.

I was raised in a household where we didn't even say "shut up" to each other! My Mother hated that term - it sounded mean to her so we were told to "hush" lol
That has always been my mindset too - I never told my children to shut up - we don't yell, we don't call names - it just isn't our style. I've been married almost 27 years and can count on one hand the number of times we've had any sort of "argument" that even led to slightly raised voices. ;^)

I haven’t followed this case closely - just off and on for the past couple of days. I have an observation and question. My observation is that this girl is full of rage and I hope that they are prepared for what she may do if the verdict is not to her liking. I’d have several guards around her and then a padded room ready to go. My question is did she have a boyfriend who didn’t want the child? That is a common reason for women of her kind to kill their children.

To any legal eagles: Could the reason Baez never did a deal be due to his client having to allocute? And if so, could the details behind the murder be so horrific his client wouldn’t make it out the slammer alive? Now I’m really wondering if she boiled her daughter to death.

"Woudl you hire Baez to defend you?"No. He is one of the worst attorneys in open court that I've ever seen.

I admire that. In my family we yell and scream at each other. We are very loud and vocal.

Excellent summation! The only thing I would disagree with is that she tried to bury the kid in the back yard - although the body was definately laid down in the back yard - or the shovel was after it came in contact with little Caylee. It just seems so dumb - but, of course, if she was panicky she may very well have tried such a stupid course.
Unlike the prosecution, I never thought she was a criminal mastermind. Just a stupid grifter with a talent for lying matched by incredibly gullible parents.

Narcissism and deep resentment will work for Casey. Typical 25 year old single mother whose child’s every basic material need is met by the working grandmother and the grandfather and not by her. Pool, playhouse, plush little bedroom, little parties, ribbons and bows. You know how grandmother’s are.
Casey, herself, lied to her parents about having a job working at Universal Studios for TWO YEARS.

------- One of the experts testified that the presence of chloroform could also be from household cleaners.-----------
This has been disproven. There was only chloroform. They did test for those cleaners and they weren't present. Also, the amount of chloroform was surprisingly high. It's a volatile chemical that evaporates. The fact that it was still present in such high amounts after so much time (and still present months later on evidence that was shipped unsealed) shows that the chemical itself was in very high amounts.
I'm guessing that it was high enough that it had to have been spilled in the trunk
From,
Casey Anthony found competent, trial resumes
.........."He said fatty acids in Velveeta cheese and salami, both found in the trunk, are identical to the compounds found when a human body decomposes. He also said that chloroform can be found at very high levels in common household cleaners like bleach.
When a prosecutor asked if the chemicals in the trunk could have been caused by anything besides a decomposing body, Furton answered that a similar chemical finding could come from a combination of trash, gasoline and household cleaners."..............
I'm not saying it DID come from household cleaners or that it DIDN'T come from the decomposing body. I wondered if it added to the mix. Whether chloroform was used or not, I believe it's pretty incontrovertable that there was a dead body in that trunk. I was theorizing why there was also a decomp hit by the dogs in the back yard. The dirty residue from a steam cleaner being dumped in the yard would have had decomp fluids in it. That could have been why they hit that place on the ground.

If you listen to the infamous phone call played yesterday, you will notice that the first lines of the conversation are Cindy saying happily: Did you see me on TV last night?! Appalling.
I didn't hear it. It could be she was trying to send a message to Casey since they knew they could be taped.....like, hey did you see me (hint, hint, listen to what I said on TV) or it could be that Cindy is really creepy. Since you heard it, I'll take your impression that it WAS appalling.

My question is did she have a boyfriend who didnt want the child? My understanding is that her boyfriend-of-the-day, Tony, would not allow Caylee to spend the night at his condo. I think we can all extrapolate what happened next -- Xanex (which didn't work on Caylee anymore) and then Chloroform and spending the night in the trunk of Casey's car. The duct tape was extra insurance that nobody heard Caylee's cries.

****The pool scenario should have never been introduced. It simply didn’t fit.****
Unless she deliberately drowned Caylee in the pool by taping her mouth shut.
As we learned on the ANS threads; “liars always include a tiny bit of truth in their fabrications”.

There was no hit on the shovel but you got everything else about right. Darn I should have waiting for your assessment rather than watched everyday. I am hoping for a LWOP verdict because it takes so long to administer the DP. The average time for that process is 15 years last I heard.

Some people can yell and then get back to regular life without carrying that with them - I'm sure it is how they were raised, so they carry that to the next generation.
I hope my kids will raise their children without yelling, but you never know what a spouse will bring to the marriage. Every household is different. ;^)
