A Prominent Republican is joining a prominent Democrat in predicting that Gov. Cuomo will become President Obama's running mate for vice president next year.
Former New York GOP boss William Powers, credited with playing a key role in electing Rudy Giuliani mayor and George Pataki governor, was effusive in his praise of Cuomo's successes in the just-ended legislative session, and in his prediction of the freshman governor's political future.
"Andrew had a fabulous session. It was fabulous. A property-tax cap, ethics reform and, for Democrats, gay marriage," said Powers.

Kind of tacky with Joe out there stumping for the Democrats. This is going to lead to a lot of infighting within the White House and simply shows the desperation.
But what about Joe Biden? Didn’t Obama pick Biden because of his excellent foreign policy knowledge, and qualifications to step in and be president if needed? Did all of that praise of Biden change somehow? Is it because Biden said “Stand up Chuck” to a wheelchair bound man? Or other Biden gaffes?
Remember Biden was an essential 4th member of the beer summit at the White House. How could Obama dump Biden after Joe’s loyal service to Obama???????

All “gay” questions aside, do I prefer a smart, pragmatic Marxist over an incredibly stupid one? Hard question but unlikely to actually come up because O won’t likely pick a running mate with more ability than he, himself, has.

Just a little too “fabulous” to suit me, thank you. It was “fabulous” enough for a New York State RC bishop or two to urge the faithful to boycott Andrew Cuomo and every other politician, Republican or Democrat, who voted for homosexual marriage.

Insecure leaders pick weak and indecisive subordinates. It takes a secure, self-assured man (woman) to pick somebody who might be more qualified than the leader is. I’m thinking you couldn’t get a less threatening, less capable and less likely to stab you (on purpose) subordinate than Biden.
