Obamas top presidential campaign advisers are putting together a plan to go on the offensive against critics of his stance on Israel, Im told, and are assembling a team of high profile surrogates who are well respected in the Jewish community to battle criticism in the media and ensure that it doesnt go unanswered.
Obamas supporters say the plan is in effect an acknowledgment that conservative attacks on Obamas Israel stance have made defections among Jewish voters and donors a possibility they must take seriously. Obamas advisers see a need to push back even harder on the attacks than they did in 2008, in part because Obama now has a record on the issue to defend a record that even Obamas supporters concede has not been adequately explained.
A group of well-known figures in the Jewish community has been in discussions with senior Obama adviser David Axelrod about how to respond to the criticism, which is expected to intensify as the campaign heats up. Among them: Alan Solow, the former head of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations; former Congressmen Mel Levine and Robert Wexler; and executive Penny Pritzker.

And you and your WaPo 0bama team of propagandists will be part of that effort won’t you, Greggy?
It doesn’t need to be explained, his policy stands out as clear as the nose on your face...my Jewish friends are deluded if they think this man has anything but contempt for Israel.
It seems that Israel as a Nation has more support from the Christian community in the U. S. than the Jewish...I don’t understand how this is not clear to all of even minimal intellectual capabilities.
Obummer proudly prances in where angels fear to tread.
Well you better talk to some other Jewish folks about how Obama hates Israel and get them to see the light
The President that the liberals and fools elected is not only fighting God, yea, the God of Israel, he also is fighting against his fellow man and all Jewish and Christian peoples who belive how that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again the third day for our justification by grace through faith in his finished work. Obama will probably be in the depths of hell for the great evil he has and is doing against God and man.
Obama is a traitor as well as a liar and thief and has destroyed many American families with his communist policies.

Sid Roth reaching out to help fellow Jews concerning messiah!
Yet more evidence he’s off his rocker. He has a genius for picking unpopular positions [massive, fundamental healthcare ‘reform’ that sabotages the system it claims to fix] and then “explaining” it/them to a skeptical and unwilling public. The outcome is always the same. The more he talks about it, the more unpopular his cause du jour becomes.
And no, the surrogates won’t help. The dew is off Obama’s lily, and it’s not coming back. He and his defenders/enablers are just not cutting the mustard any more. His only hope for ‘12 is to divide the conservative and/or Republican vote with a third party. It still might work, but it’s becoming an increasing long shot.
Two of the primary conservative arguments against Obama are that he called for Israel to return to 1967 lines and that he has not publicly stated with enough clarity that Israel will not be expected to negotiate with a government that includes a Hamas that has not recognized Israels right to exist. The first point is false, though reasonable people can debate whether Obama was right to go public with a call for talks around 1967 lines with swaps or whether his timing was sound. Pushed on whether theres anything to the second point, Axelrod flatly denied it.
The president does not believe that any country can be asked to negotiate with a terrorist organization that is sworn to its destruction and unwilling to abandon that goal or embrace a peaceful settlement of the conflict, he said. He could not have been clearer about that.
His characterization of the first point is a strawman. Conservatives have criticized Obama for pushing the 1967 lines as the starting point for negotiations, but no one I'm aware of has suggested that he's calling on Israel to literally go back to the 1967 lines.
But then the question is, how substantial will the land swaps be? Unless they're pretty huge, then Obama is in fact suggesting that Israel basically go back to the 1967 lines. Maybe someday Obama will get around to explaining what he has in mind.
As for the second point, about which Axelrod says Obama "could not have been any clearer", I would have to go back to the speech and see what he said. I don't recall him being super clear on that point.
[It seems that Israel as a Nation has more support from the Christian community in the U. S. than the Jewish...I dont understand how this is not clear to all of even minimal intellectual capabilities.]
All bible believing Christians who read the Scriptures know that Israel is the center of the prophecies of God and how God in the flesh, Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, will return to Israel after the 7 year coming tribulation and rule over the whole earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords for 1000 years (this will be the kingdom of heaven on the earth spoken of by the prophets). The Scriptures plainly teach these prophecies to those who take the time to read and learn the Word of God.
Bottom line, God Almighty, creator of heaven and earth and man upon the earth, blesses those who bless Israel and curses those who curse Israel. Israel is His Glory and the city of Jerusalem the city the Lord Jesus Christ will rule over the whole earth from, it is the city of the great King of Kings, Christ Jesus, also known as Jehovah in the old testament before He took on a body of flesh and came to Israel some 2000 + years ago.
This should work. Obama’s plan is the end of Israel. Ya! This should work.
Why do they think he'll give a hoot about any of them when he won't have another campaign to worry about?
I have been strongly pro-Israel, but all of the Jewish people I know ( in the US) have opposed every policy and effort by the United States to help Israel.
I’m getting tired of it.
The country is going bankrupt. Why should I go against the American Jews and argue to spend billions of dollars we don’t have and thousands of American lives to defend what should be their country?
I’m *just about* ready to side with the Libertarians, pull back on foreign intervention, let the Middle East burn, and let Israel fend for itself. If that’s what the American Jews want, let them have their way.
.
Being Jewish and being an Israeli are two different things.
Obama-Haman, enemy of the Jews.
Depending on self loathing Jews is a winning issue for sure.
Obama doesn’t have any choice. After all, he is the Anti-Christ.
crickets
On the other hand, Chucky Schumer and Debbie Whatsername Shultz sure love Obama.
good??? why?? do you really expect the GOP to fight back?? or continue to fight like little girls as they have for half a dozen year....
